The hotel is a European-style building, very ancient flavor. But the room is somewhat small, but very delicate. Not far away there are many shopping malls, convenience shopping. Nearby there are many convenience stores.

Spent four nights at the Hotel Monterey Sapporo just prior to the 2013 Hokkaido Snow Festival (yuki matsuri). The location was very convenient, only about 2 blocks from Sapporo Station (and you can walk most of it underground from the station to exit 19 or 23 if you want to avoid the snow and cold). This hotel was right in... More

i have stayed on a number of occasions at the Monterey. it is very well located and i can park underneath for a nominal charge. whatever the hotel claims to be, for me it has all the appearance of an early 20th century American hotel when the Americans were themselves imitating an Edwardian style. the interesting thing is that it... This hotel used to be a good hotel - now it's a tired has-been. Located 4 blocks from the railway station, and not far from the action at the Sapporo winter festival, it definitely has a good location. But the rooms are furnished the same way they were 40-years ago, the carpeting is tired, and they don't serve food in... More

The Monterey is ideally located in Saporro & within walking distance of the train station. We stayed here for a night to visit the winter festival. We asked the hotel to put a 3rd bed into the room as one friend decided to join the trip at the last minute. The hotel obliged. It seems like an old building but... More

While on a business trip, coincided with the Snow Festival in Sapporo, I spent in this hotel nine nights during February 2013. This is a beautiful, conspicuous European style hotel, located just in front of the main Sapporo Station. It is also convenient in its proximity to the town center, shopping malls and department stores, and just a walking distance... More

We checked in to the Hotel Monterey, and immediately noticed that the room was really small. We booked a triple room, and basically we got 2 twin beds with a rollaway bed near the window. They charged us 10,600 JPY per person for the 1st night and 6,600 JPY per person for the 2nd night. We informed the front desk... More

The location is perfect. It close to the Station. I like the retro style of the decoration and it's really cute. The staffs were very kind, they help us a lot such as internet problems and which bus to take to Rusutsu because we don't speak any Japanese.

For a relatively big hotel, it's quite a cozy little place. The hotel has a European theme, without the old stuffy and musty environment. Room Rooms are quite big (we may have been given bigger rooms) with a two-seater couch and coffee table, a writing desk and 2 beds. The linens were soft and even use memory foam pillows aside... This is a cute and comfortable hotel. Having two bathrooms helps a lot when you are pressed for time. It is also located near a decent shopping area - Daimaru and Tokyu...among others... no problem with hotel. clean. a bit dark in the room. they should provide a place for your luggage...
