The hotel is walking distance to the JR train station and is great value. The rooms and amenities are pretty new and clean. Don't expect a five star hotel but this place is much more than a hostel. It has private rooms for those who want their own room. Young international crowd. Will stay here again.

I've been there twice, each stay is so wonderful that almost become the favorite part of my travel. Excellent location to explore not only Kyoto but also day trips to Nara, Himeji, Osaka, Fuji and Hiroshima because it is five minutes walking from Kyoto station where there are buses, trains and the subway. Rates are low and even lower if you stay an extended period. Very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Overall great hostel.
