This was a good Hotel in Kyoto; we stayed there after spending some time in a ryokan. A little bit far from the city center. The lobby layout had an interesting japanese flavor. Rooms were middle-sized and clean. Western style breakfast was good (better than what we got in 5-star hotel in Tokyo...). Reception was helpful. The concierge service was... More

This hotel is superlative in every respect. The exterior is low-key, set behind a grove of bamboo. The lobby, on the other hand, is spectacular: a high, airy space topped by large grids made of light-colored wood, the grids varying in pattern and height. The designer was SuperPotato, one of Asia’s hottest design firms. We had a room on the... More

We stayed in this hotel for 4 night and we cant complain, it was a nice western style hotel in Kyoto, however I didn't give it 5 stars as compare to other places we have stayed we rate it average. The location is not very centric, so you need to spend aprox 15 min in taxi going to mayor sites... More

The hotel is lovely, really chilled out. We had a king room which was really big and also had a massive bathroom. The staff were really helpful. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the nearest subway station and is quite far from the main nightlife areas. It is right next to the Sanjusangen-do temple but otherwise not... More

The Hyatt has nice, large rooms good cable and a free newspaper. Bathrooms are also quite large and include a wet room type shower. The room was comfortable and well kept. The main problem with this hotel is the location. While it is right next to the fascinating Sanjusangendo Temple and across the street from the Museum there is nothing... More

We came from Tokyo so our accommodation expectations had somewhat of a rude awakening, which was understandable for a small place like Kyoto. The hotel is close to the train station, but best to take a cab rather than walk, it's 5 mins in a taxi and quite cheap. The first day we tried to walk to Gion (the main... More

I've been fortunate to stay in some very nice hotels during my lifetime, but the experience I just had at the Hyatt in Kyoto really stands out. I'm traveling in a group of six with my parents and my children, and we are a complicated group with many diverse dietary needs including vegetarian, Kosher and gluten free. The entire staff... More

Close enough to walk to Gion (if used to doing a lot of walking), or use buses or train to get to other areas (even cab rides were reasonable from this area). Nice, simple, clean, 'Western' convenience, many English speaking staff members and helpful concierge.

nice location, lovely rooms. Concierge very knowledgeable and helpful. Wifi in the room is very poor. Service at breakfast is very poor and it takes a long time to get a drink at the bar. Good Italian restaurant I would stay here again. Good value for money

My husband and I were travelling with our 18mo son. This was a 3 night stop over on our way to Hakuba and then Tokyo. The Pro's - Location. Yes it's out of the way of the township but quite an inexpensive cab fare or a good 30-45 minute walk. The reason why we booked here is because it's walking... More
