I must admit that in this case we got lucky. I normally do a lot of research before booking a hotel. Tripadvisor is a big part of the decision. Reading these reviews post-stay makes me think I would not have selected the Federal to stay, but in our case it served our needs fine. Our situation was a bit different... More

This hotel is good - rooms are a little dated but clean and well serviced each day. Hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. The Verandah restaurant is good value for money and the food is delicious, likewise the revolving restaurant on the top floor. Really enjoyed the pool, and the location s great - everything is handy. The beds... More

While I had read the reviews regarding the dated decor, I'm thrilled I stayed here. Firstly the Service was the best I have ever had. From the moment we pulled up to the front entrance till we left 5 days later the Service was 5 Star all the way. We arrived at 7am from a long-haul flight, expecting to drop... More

Agrees with the other contributors about the location of this property - near to the Bukit Bintang & Imbi Monorail station, accessible to bus stops, right in the middle of the Bukit Bintang shopping belt and easy access to the other parts of the City. No problems finding food, shopping and entertainment. The front office staff are friendly. We arrived... More

Although well situated from a shopping viewpoint, this hotel is in the older and seedier part of town. The hotel is very old and, although it has no doubt had many refurbishments, it is badly in need of another. There is no residents' lounge and one therefore has to sit in one's room or in the hotel reception area. Outside... More

The best part about this hotel is that it is located in Bukit Bintang. Bukit Bintang is full of life, people and food! Loads of malls and everything is within walking distance. The hotel has a bunch of friendly staff especially in the restaurant. Everything is clean and I did not feel uncomfortable here during my stay. The rooms were... More

We spent several nights here as stopovers to and from Europe. Sure it is the oldest hotel in K.L. but is was well decorated and reasonably clean. We had two disturbed nights with outside noise but when approached, management was only too pleased to give us a better (and larger) room. What impressed us most was the friendly staff at... More

I have stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in Dec 2011. Initially, we had booked a standard room. When checking in, we have told the counter to put us in a quiet room. The lady was very kind and upgraded us to a bigger room. However, the room was not quiet. The beds are placed on the same wall... More

What a letdown. Walking into the hotel we were overwhelmed with a spectacular entrance. This however quickly changed when we walked into our rooms. Out dated small rooms that smelt of smoke. When I asked to changed room I was given to key to another room this was even smaller a had a great view of a brick wall. I... More

Good location with excellent staff, friendly and always smiling. But the quality of the property is dissapointing. We booked 2 rooms, when we checked in, in one of the rooms, the shower could not be turned on and the Telephone was out. When called, the room change was done and we were upgraded to a deluxe room. Nothing that great,... More
