Beautiful house although could do with a bit of work. Room was fine if a little on the small side, however we did go for one of the cheapest ones. Breakfast was good although there wasn't any choices. Located in nice, peaceful neighborhood about a 5 minute drive from town. it is residential though so don't expect to walk to... More

We had reserved the Bed & Breakfast's separate guest house 6 months ago for the weekend of the Austin City Limits music festival in October. We were notified yesterday that our reservation has been canceled because they just sold the guest house! They put a guest house on the market that they had already booked reservations for! The owner said... More

My husband and I stayed at the Woodburn House for a weekend getaway and had a fabulous time! This was our first B&B experience and we were not disappointed. The house is beautiful. Breakfast was AMAZING and it was great to meet others and enjoy casual conversation every morning. Location was great too. Only took minutes to drive into downtown.... More

The pros: The innkeeper knows whats going on in Austin and is full of ideas and recommendations. The breakfast and coffee are good. The home itself is very beautiful. The Hyde Park neighborhood is really laid back and relaxing. The cons: This place is far from detail oriented, after staying in some nice b&b's for the same price, this one... More

The Woodburn House is a lovely home built in 1905--historic by Austin standards--located in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is in easy walking distance to a friendly collection of locally-owned commercial establishments including grocery store, cafe, restaurants and cheese shop. The room was spacious and comfortable and although there were a few minor repairs needed, I tend to overlook such... More

My wife and I have stayed in dozens of B&Bs from Maine to Colorado. This was easily the worst. The innkeeper was invisible except at breakfast. We checked ourselves in, found our way around the building, found restaurants on our own, etc, etc. The is plenty wrong with this place. Here is a short list of the biggest shortcoming: 1)... More

I tried to make a reservation. After calling twice and leaving a message I was finally able to speak with Noel and he told me the suite I was interested in was available and that he would call me back in an hour to book it. I called him two more times that day and left a message because he... More

Lovely, quiet house in great neighborhood. The breakfast is superb and you won't need any lunch. The drawback is having no coffee(!) until 9AM---since sleeping late is 7:30 for us, it's hard to wait so long to breakfast before starting on the day's activities. Previous comments about the multi-use shampoo/soap containers are unfounded--nothing yucky about squirting out some soft soap/shampoo... More

My husband and I booked the B & B with the approval of the owner using my prepaid B & B gift certificate. When we arrived, Noel, the owner, swiped my credit card for two nights before I checked out unbeknown to me. The gift certificate covered a portion of the room cost. When I checked out, I presented my... More

My husband and I booked the Woodburn Houston for our 14th Anniversary and it was a huge disappointment when we drove up to what we saw on the website. The landscaping was horrible which made the first impression think the house had not been upgraded since it was built. Also, when we walked up to the porch the patio furniture... More
