Highlights: -location is right over the bridge from the city and about a mile from 6th street night life. (cab ride for 2 was less than $10 and walk was about 20 minutes.) -Close to park and Lady Bird Lake (definitely walkable) -Breakfast (great options) -Rooms are clean and spacious -Elevators are pretty fast -Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries (fancy!) -Quiet... What a great hotel~I've stayed at the Hampton Inn on previous visits to Austin but this time chose the Embassy Suites as it was cheaper. ES is my chain of choice so I was very excited to stay here and I was not disappointed. The room was immaculate; happy hour was great and breakfast was nice. The staff was very... More

After reading a mixed-bag of reviews, we had settled on having an average room in a not-so-average city. No problem--we intended to do a lot of exploring anyway. We were pleasantly surprised to find friendly, fun and very helpful front desk staff (ask for their favorite places and you'll win them over), our room was fantastic--newly renovated and very fresh,... This hotel was a great find. I had read mixed reviews on TA prior to booking and I was pleasantly surprised what a great hotel this really was. Excellent location (w/ a view), newly renovated rooms, excellent price, free breakfast, free happy hour every day. It is an older hotel and the overall interior seems a bit dated, but the... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, 5/3-5/4, and enjoyed my stay overall. The hotel is visibly older both in the lobby/reception area as well as outside however, the rooms appear to have been recently updated with new furniture, which was nice. The location is great and is just across the bridge from Downtown Austin, and a short taxi... More

Stayed during SXSW 2012 for a week. Great price large room at back of hotel - so no view but at least i got plenty of sleep when eventually made it back to room. To be honest rooms could do with a re-vamp but exceptionally clean and functional. Didn't eat in restaurant but availed of complentary breakfast each morning. This... More

My husband and I were in Austin for SXSW and booked here because other downtown hotels were full. This was a blessing because we were on the other side of the river, which meant we weren't surrounded by loud bars and people. We were close to all the great shops and restaurants on Congress Avenue. It was also only a... More

Biggest disappointment here was the remote parking garage behind the hotel. One has to walk an alley and around the hotel to get to the main/pedestrian entrance. In good weather it's an invconvenience. In rain it would be a significant hassle. And you pay $13 a night for self park. Otherwise, typical Embassy Suites experience. Comfortable room - no free... The Embassy Suites is just across the river (and the famous bat bridge) from downtown Austin. It's in the SoCo (South Congress) area of the city which is a convenient location. There are tons of restaurants and stores around it. It is not so close to the university, but is still walkable. Other hotels in the downtown area are closer.... More

Dear FwaysGreens, Thank you so much for writing a review on your stay with us! Unfortunately, the bats have not migrated back yet, but come summer they will be here! Hopefully you can plan a return trip to see them because it is really a neat experience. Please let us know if we can do anything differently to make the... More
