Arthemis hotel is really well located, near the blue mosque and ayra Sophia, you also have the tram just in front, but overall onur’s attention at the lobby is extraordinary and he helped us in all of our needs, we would definitely come back to Arthemis hotel! Also the breakfast is great at the terrace where you have a great view.

Hotel is located on the top floor (7th) of a residential building on the edge of the historic district, Pelourinho. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The manager, Cesar Goes, is fluent in English and very knowledgeable about the city. The view from the balcony of Pelourinho and the harbor is spectacular. Comfortable, spacious rooms and great hospitality.

There is a reason this hotel is cheap, it had bad staff is dirty , broken and full of bugs. Enough said, go elsewhere. If there is one saving grace is that its close to the pelerino squares which is worth visiting if in Salvador, especially at night, beware of pickpockets though. we were aware and still had a phone and wallet stolen, god knows how.

We spent 6 days here during the Soa Joao festival 2013. The hotel is located perfectly at Praca da Se in the center of the old town of Salvador, Pelorinho. Since springtime of 2013 there ist a new owner of the hotel and things are becoming better. No broken beds, no cucarachas! The rooms are not the most modern and bestones but o.k. Everything is clean. The spaceful lobby has a comfortable sofa, a big TV, chairs and some tables. The terasse where breakfast is served could not be better: A phantastic view over the bay of Salvador and the old town. Cesar, the new owner, is doing everything to make your stay comfortable. If you have to decide: + best located at Praca da Se + unbeatable view from the terasse + good room-rates - Standard of the rooms could be better but it´s o.k.
