We had a reservation and they canceled our reservation, saying that they don’t do business with TripAdviser. That’s the first time ever that a Hotel canceled a reservation. I guess the rates were low and they could make more money selling to someone else. We were very disappointed. Terrible, Terrible !!!! Y’all should sue them!!!!!!!!

The room is very standard but as we expected, the breakfast buffet was huge and amazing, we loved it, the small pool was perfect at that time of the year: not too cold, in a sunny place and not crowded. We had the pleasure to meet Louisa (sorry if I mispell it), the Housekeeping manager, who speak in English, gave us good tips for restaurants around and was very kind! It was exactly as we expected it, and Louisa made the experience even better!

It is an standard hotel, with very poor room equipment and supply. Breakfast full of Bahia style cookies and miscellaneous, hard to identify if sweets or salty. Restaurant menu very poor, extended time on preparation. Service standard at room and restaurant, very good at reception.

Stayed here for the world cup. It was an expensive stay. The place was clean, rooms were basic. Had a funky key system that would activate the electricity. Wifi was poor but manageable. Pool is tiny. The breakfast was ok nothing special, fruit seemed kind of dry. Area seemed safe and you could walk a few blocks to a supermarket or some local restaurants. Right across from the beach, which was decent. The sand was ok the water was cool, some amenities with vendors, and it wasn't to busy. Farther north it got really busy. There was a shuttle to the mall which was nice. And a couple of other shuttle to the main tourist destinations. Because of the world cup I wouldn't say cost matched its value but at any other time I could see it being good value for cost.

We spent a few nights here for work, during the World Cup.There was no choice but this place, we got trapped. And they knew it. Without any sense of shame they overcharged and underperformed on an incredible scale. We travelled all over Brazil during those days, it was bad almost everywhere, but this... This was outrageous. They charged 5 star prices for a 2 to 3 star hotel. Most rooms are eighties dark brown Soviet style, only some are a bit more modern. The location is less than ideal: right in front of the hotel you'll have to cross a very busy highway before you'll reach the beach. There are big restaurants along this highway but if you're looking for a nice stroll around the area: take a hotel somewhere else. Whatever you do: don't dine in the hotel's restaurant... It looks like a lanchonete (a very uninviting one... that light! TV... awww) and feels like a freezer (airco on max), breakfast is ok but if you want anything else: run! The staff was incredibly unfriendly. One example, there are plenty more... The swimming pool area, the only more or less decent hotel area to sit and have a drink after dark, is closed after 2200. In stead of kindly warning us that the area would be closed, a staff member just closed the door without looking and locked us out. Beers cost 5 times the World Cup price in Pelourinho (the hotel actually charged 10 R$ for a can of Skol). They promised to wash and deliver clothes before 0800 but obviously that was a lie: when they returned the clothes a good 24 hours late they still charged 100% and only gave a 10% discount after my worst public fury in history. Sounds very exaggerated to you? I dare you: go visit the Bahiamar and see for yourself. Just don't say I didn't warn you :)

I did enjoy my stay here, despite the rip-off world cup price, but let's face it, everyone was doing it! The hotel was clean, the food was good and the staff were pleasant and helpful - this makes for a good stay in my view. Bringing the rating back towards average was the location - across the road from a beach but well out of the tourist areas of town. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, all quite quiet, and the beach was also very quiet, if nice enough (and safe enough) to stroll along. But 15 - 20 minutes drive to get anywhere lively. Also the room was quite dated, though comfortable, and the pool is poorly located in front of a tall building that blocks off the afternoon sun quite early. There is a free shuttle to the Salvador shopping mall, which is worth a visit. The breakfast buffet was excellent, which gets your day off to a good start as you plan your day working out how to get somewhere worth seeing. So, may be worth staying here (at a regular price) if you don't mind being a little out of the way.

During the worldcup they ask exuberant prices for really bad rooms and then they even let you pay far too much for a beer from the minibar. Their swimmigpoool is for midgets. You better stay away here. Why spent more then 200 words on this hotel?

This place is a dump. We stayed there because of the USA vs. Belgium World Cup match and it was rated four soccer balls on the FIFA website. We paid $R600 for a suite because that was all that was available at the last minute. This is approximately $300USD. I understand that prices were inflated for the World Cup, but even at $150.00 this would be 75% overpriced. The windows were old and dirty and the whole room was very old and outdated. On the positive side, out the dingy windows you could see the ocean (Room 202) and the unappealing pool. There was plenty of hot water and low quality toiletries and a hair dryer. The king sized bed was very comfortable The breakfast buffet was pretty good with an omelette station, but the emphasis was on fruit, cake and other desserts. The front desk was responsive to our requests and most of them spoke English even though my husband and I speak passable Portuguese.
