Neal and his team were wonderful hosts, taking care of us from the moment of our (late night) arrival until our earlier-than-expected departure. They are friendly and helpful; the breakfasts were delicious; the rooms were clean and comfortable; and the location is great for exploring Salvador. And his 3 Westie dogs are adorable!

Excellent location just a few minutes walk from everything you need: beach, shops, places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet, with good airconditioning (perfect temperature for a good night’s sleep). Very friendly helpful staff, and a really excellent breakfast with lots of options: fresh fruit, home made cakes, eggs prepared how you want. Highly recommended.

Cash Inglesa is a lovely little guest house in Barra which is the best neighbourhood to stay in Salvador. It is close to beaches with plenty of cafe's, restaurants and bars nearby. We stayed for 4 nights in the family room which was clean and well equipped with TV channels for the kids and a veranda. Neil and his team were very attentive, on hand to offer information and to serve a nice buffet breakfast.

Great boutique guest house. Neil and his staff member were very welcoming. Our room was clean and modern with a big balcony, we slept well with the air con on. Breakfast is great, we had lots of options brought over to the table and the tapoika was something new to try along with the Brazilian pastries/bread. We would never usually stay in a guest house but this was prefect for our stay. Neil also booked us airport transfers and put us in contact with a great tour guide. Less than 10 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes to restaurant's.

Located in Barra, a lovely, safe neighbourhood near the beach, and a good range of local cafes and restaurants. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, well appointed with a fan, AC, comfy bed, flat screen TV with access to Netflix, a fridge, drinking water, and a very good bathroom with some toiletries and a rain shower. You can get a decent night’s sleep here. The communal areas are well decorated, clean and inviting. It’s a calm and secure guesthouse to return to after a days sightseeing or on the beach. It has a bright, cheery atmosphere but isn’t rowdy at all, quite the opposite. It attracts decent international clientele. Two lovely little dogs add to the homely feeling of this guest house. There’s a decent selection of food for breakfast, including eggs cooked to order, tea (including PG Tips), coffee, juice, cereal, yogurt, fruit, bread and cake. It’s conveniently located for a short cab ride to Pelhourinho and all the other tourist sights in Salvador. Neil (the owner) is welcoming, really helpful, on-hand, English and Portuguese speaking and very friendly. His team are also nice but it helps if you can speak a little Portuguese with them. I stayed for 3 nights whilst I explored Salvador and could have stayed longer. I’ve stayed at a lot of very good hotels and would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed here 4 days in November. Can't find anything to complain about. Neil and his crew are helpful, smiling and polite. Made us a great breakfast every day. Quiet place close to the beach. Great beds, slept really good every night. Will stay at the same place next time we are in Salvador.

I stayed in Neil's pousada twice during my travels in Brazil. It's very comfortable (the bed especially so, and I am not easily satisfied with beds) the sheets and towels of very good quality and the room (and the whole pousada) beautifully refurbished with stylish bathrooms, bedrooms and common areas. The breakfast offers a wide range of foods and kept me going until dinner. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful and were mostly able to understand my basic Portuguese (Neil speaks English and Portuguese, in any case). The location is second to none, a couple of blocks back from the beachfront street (and therefore very quiet and private) but an easy walk to the beaches and shops. I hope to return, one day. Thanks Neil and staff.

Pousada Inglesa is a great option to those looking for a good, comfortable and fair price place in Salvador. The location is definitely one of the greatest possible considering how close it is to the main visiting sites of the city (you can easily go to the Porto da Barra beach in a few minutes) and very good restaurants as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the house is very nice, clean and well maintained. The room was pretty, all the furniture was new and useful, there is a little balcony, the bathroom is big and clean. Breakfast has a wide variety and local options (everyone should have tapioca because they're great!). Honestly, I don't have a bad thing to say and would totally return here on my next visit to Salvador.

This a perfect place for anyone who wants to get to know Salvador. Across from the beach and farol da barra, great location (especially for carnival) and easy to find. My partner and I stayed for carnival/2018 at Casa Inglesa. Neil is such a great host and his staff is very helpful and courteous. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the AC really saved our lives from the heat in Salvador. Breakfast is nice, everyday Neil served us with fresh, natural homemade juice of different fruits. I even had black coffee all day long at no extra cost. Regarding the time and purpose of your stay, I highly recommend Casa Inglesa. You will love it!

The place is beautiful and relaxing, close to the beach, the brakfest is very good. But the best part is the staff! The friendliest staff plus two adorable friendly little dogs. We came back to the place after a trip to morro do sao paulo, and would stay here again. We took uber to the historical part about 15 reals, and to the international airaport about 50 reals.
