Looks like old grandeur but the rooms were totally outdated.Tiles ok but furniture old and worn out.Safe did not work and the lights looked like construction site ones.Totally no comfort. This is by far the best hotel in Belem. The staff are very helpful and don't linger around waiting for a tip. The area around the hotel shouldn't be explored alone at night. One of our crew was robbed just down the street from the hotel. More

Stayed here in the midst of the World Social Forum so lots of chaotic activity but this hotel was calm and comfortable...had five South American presidents staying so security was interesting !
