good location, comfy beds if you don't get the stuffed full dorm - the other dorm with air con is nice. Staff amazingly helpful and friendly apart from the woman who makes the breakfast - she rude! could do with plug sockets in the rooms.

Vila Carioca is located in the Botafogo neighbourhood, which is a safe area and still close to everywhere by metro. This would be one of the best hostels I have stayed in during my 10 months backpacking around South America. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, the outdoor and kitchen area had everything you needed, and the breakfast was just fantastic. Very good, loved the place, very clean, organized and well located. I was very well attended, good price and breakfast is very tasty. I really recommend this hostel because it is a very nice place. I met new people from different countries, it was a peaceful place and safe.

I am satisfied with the choice of Vila Carioca Hostel. The localisation is really great, the area is safe and nice. It is the great starting place to visit Rio. Staff is friendly and always ready to help you or advise.
