Fatima was amazing with us - we were there in the run up to Carnival this year and she pulled out her fancy dress/costume bag and let us help ourselves to headbands and other fun stuff! It was amazing. Her house is lovely, the room is very lovely and the location is the best of all! With a grocery store... More

I was there last year in June. 4 Blocks from the beach in the very pricey and pretty Leblon neighborhood. While you share a bathroom (although you have your own toilet and sink in the room), the bathroom is spotless. Fatima is very nice and very helpful. Next time I go to Rio, I would definitely return there

This hostel is in a really great location of Leblon. Close to the best beach and many good restaurants, of all different budgets near by. There is also a good supermarket close by. Fatima is so nice, they will help organize tours and give you suggestions on where to eat. Breakfast is delicious, we had a wonderful stay here. www.FatimaMacintyreGuesthouse.com

We didn’t actually meet Fatima during our 2 night stay in her apartment, or see any other guests although we faintly heard them on occasion. A very nice girl showed us in when we arrived but we didn’t see her again either. This was partly a bit strange seeing as you are literally sleeping in Fatima’s spare room, but on... More

We stayed four nights at Fatima Macintyre's house. First, this is not a bed and breakfast. You can buy your own groceries and fix a breakfast and she does have small refrigerators in the rooms. The kitchen is quite small and we had to take turns in the kitchen... and in the shower as it is shared between the three... More

My husband and I booked our stay with Fatima based mostly on the TripAdvisor reviews, and the place was just as great as we hoped. Her home is three blocks from the beach (about a 10-minute walk) and close to major bus lines and taxis. Plus the place is really cozy, decorated in a bohemian style with lots of books... More

We stayed 3 nights with Fatima, and it was fantastic. We arrived on a very early flight, and we were welcomed by her making us breakfast! She was also really helpful with tips about how to get around Rio and what things we should go and see on what days. The guesthouse is absolutely lovely, and the bed is very... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. After a long flight it was a relief to arrive somewhere that felt like home...for that's exactly what this is, Fatima's home and you are immediately welcomed. Great stuff; rooms are beautiful, giant beds, lovely clean sheets- couldn't ask for anything more. Breakfast is included (continental; cheese, ham, bread, eggs, fresh... More

Fatima's was a joy to stay in, great price, pristine clean (such a treat when on the road for months), lovely hosts and hospitality and to top it all off a most delicious and generous breakfast! Fatima and her daughter are generous and accommodating in every way! We felt so comfortable and at home. After a year travelling, I can... More

My husband and I stayed there in July. The location could not be better. The best neighborhood in Rio (Leblon) and walking distance to the beach, great restaurants, shops and public transportation. The house is very cute and Fatima is a perfect host. She would tell you everything you need to know about what to see in Rio and getting... More
