Stayed here during carnival. Good location, not excellent but like every other place in Rio, during carnival, prices are overinflated. Hotel is a typical 3 star. Breakfast was pretty good, offering a variety of fruits, hot menu and pastries, cereals and bakery. Staff was friendly but nothing spectacular. Room was of a good size and clean but, as other reviewers... More

My wife and I celebrated New Years in Rio, so all hotels (including this) were heavily overpriced. Nevertheless, we went for this one as it was in the less expensive end and had an excellent location in a quiet, charming street close to the beach and metro stations. I had read some negative reviews about the staff and rooms, but... More

[EN] Overall this hotel is good, but it is far from being excellent: nice location, but terrible view (surrounded by old residencial buildings), rooms neither big or small, LCD TV with cable, minibar. But the installations are very dated, the furniture is old and the bathroom is "moldy" - to say the least. The wifi only works well near the... More

I will try to keep it short: 1. It's overpriced, I mean REALLY overpriced. We moved (ran) out of this hotel when we had the chance and got a room at Sofitel (5 stars) with two huge rooms instead of one for only +30% of the price we paid for this Palace 2. WiFI doesn't work 3. They have an... More

I stayed at the Majestic Rio Palace in November 2011 for 2 weeks and while this establishment has much going for it such as good location for the wonderful beach and transport links, delicious buffet breakfast, helpful front of house staff and entirely adequate shower it was pretty average in other areas. My room, although only a standard was both... More

We selected this hotel for the location and the price and were very pleased!! The service is exceptional as is the location. It's only a 5 minute walk to the beach and there are lots of restaurants and bars around. We loved the fact that the hotel was on a residential street and just a block away from a busy... More

Stayed over for new years 2010. arrived on the 26th dec, first impressions are good but.... Cleaners are very loud (talking and making/moving beds) in the morning. You can hear every single flush from the next room as if it was in your own room. This does not help when the walls are made of paper! Most of the time... More

I spent 6 nights here for a seminar. It is a decent hotel with good breakfasts, located on a quiet safe street about 5 minutes walk from the beach, in the center of the Copacabana neighborhood. Everything worked well – AC, programmable safe, TV (no English or French language news though), etc. My bathroom had abit of a moldy smell... More

This hotel is quite expensive for what if offers. The reception staff is horrible, not nice or efficient. The rooms and location are OK, but the most of the hotel is abandoned, like the swimming pool (dirty and tiny) or the gym. There are a lot of better places to stay nearby, for better prices.
