Sadly the Pousada no longer functions. It is now rented as a house only, so no hotel services like breakfast or changing of the beds, cleaning of the bathrooms etc.

The Pousada (small hotel/B&B) is located in the village of Picinguaba. Equidistant between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo the village is around 4 hours from each and around 30 minutes from the historic town of Paraty. There is plenty to occupy our guests; fishing trips with the local fishermen can be arranged, short boat trips to remote beaches and islands with snorkeling and diving, hikes to nearby beaches and waterfalls, surfing, horse-riding and kayaking. The Pousada provides guests with a full breakfast every morning. There's homemade jam, bread, fresh juices, cold meats and cheese. If you prefer eggs and bacon then that can be arranged too. Dinner can also be provided by prior arrangement. Rosa Penteado was a regular visitor to Picinguaba since her children were in their teens. Around ten years ago she made the decision to move there full-time and open the Pousada along with the atelier. The Pousada has a very personal feel to it, as you can see from the photos. Each room is individually decorated with ceramics and paintings. The original house is now a lounge area, filled with trinkets from Rosa's various travels. There are books, magazines, films and TV if you feel like a break from the beach. Children are well catered for and often end up playing with the other children from the village. Languages spoken; English, Italian, Spanish.
