A good relief for the tired traveller after a tiring climb through the mountains. Expensive but considered it a treat after the hard work. Stayed in the brand new wing, so no complains about the room. The restuarants can be improved though. Had only 1 main eating hall for dinner, staff could not cope when it was crowded and service... Agreed with previous reviewers, thank you so much to Leslie r. for letting us know about the new 5 star hotel. The rooms were brand new and what you would expect from a 4-5 star hotel anywhere else, which was a relief given what I have heard about other hotel options on the mountain. Some comments from other reviewers said... More

I stayed in this new 4/5 star hotel in the Xihua area of the mountain late April. You have to walk some distance to reach it after the rail station so pack light. The lobby is nicely decorated and the room is nice and clean. The hotel has wifi and it is a short distance away from the sunrise viewpoint.... More

There are two buildings at the Xihai. We booked through an agency in Beijing who jacked up the price twice between our initial booking and then confirming - insisting that the price for foreigners kept being increased and that we did not confirm fast enough: overnight internet traffic. Frankly, that has never happened to us before and just shouldn't happen... More

Thanks to Comments from Leslie R, otherwise there wasn't any info that advertised Xihai had a new building. And as Leslie said, it really turns out the new wing is definitely a 5 star hotel facility. The building is brand new. Rooms were clean and comfortably decorated. Staff were friendly. The only issue was the electrical fuse box kept blowing... More

We discovered that Xihai hotel had open a new building with a 5 star hotel thanks to another comment on TripAdvisor. We booked and stayed two nights there (beware there are now 2 Xihai hotel buildings). After a small scare at the check in because they couldn't find our booking, everything went fine. The room was excellent, very clean, new,... More

This was my 2nd time to Huangshan--last time I stayed at the Beihai which was a great location but the rooms were damp, old and smelly. I was excited to find that the Xihai was recently renovated into a very luxurious 5 star hotel--the original property is still there (across the road) and you can book those cheaper rooms, but... I think the place is setup as two separate accommodations facilities. The main building being a hotel, and underneath it, some barracks that act like a shared dorm hostel. This is where I stayed. The beds are literally wood planks with a 1" thick blanket on them. The least comfortable sleep I've had in China, which is saying a lot.... More

Stayed at Xihai for one night in the hope of seeing the sunrise of the mountains in the morning. Unfortunately the sky was too misty to see this, however we still had a great time at Huangshan. The hotel staff don't speak much english and the rooms aren't what you would expect from a 4* hotel, however the hotel does... More

It is ok and you can't expect too much on the hotels in the mountain. You can't expect too much on hotels in Mount Huang. Xihai Hotel is located in the West Sea Scenic Area. It takes 15 minutes walk to a peak for watching the sunrise. It is very tiring after you reach the peak. To be very honest,... More
