We booked a junior suite for ourselves and our 11month old son with the plan that we would sit on the balcony of an evening admiring the view with a glass of wine. On arrival the "suite" was a standard double bedroom from which we could see the sea but also had our view of korcula town obscured by a... More

We stayed for 8 nights in April at the beginning of the season. The hotel was reasonably priced and we found that our half board option was worth doing as the breakfast had enough choices for everyone to find something they liked and the dinner was always good quality with ample choice. You pay for your own drinks though. The... More

Hotel Marco Polo was the low point of what was a fabulous trip to Slovenia and Croatia. I know people say"it's only a room" but we sincerely believe that where you stay sets the tone for how you view the area. If you prefer a positive tone, stay somewhere else. I agree with the reviewer who said "Despite being on... More

1.Half -board was a big mistake as the evening meal, the food was always over cooked and never hot. Local restaurants are superb, and cost UK prices. 2.Room - Superior is of good size, but only single beds. We were offered smaller standard room, with no view. 3.Room very clean but basic. Good quality beds. The shower is a bath... More

Despite being on a quaint and fabulous island, this hotel doesn't add anymore to your experience of being in Korcula. The lobby and the rooms seem outdated. There is, however, a lovely terrace next to the lobby, where a couple of small pools sit - from there, you get a great view of Korcula town (going to Korcula town is... More

A drab, Soviet-style 70s inspired hotel that fails to deliver on all levels. Dour staff, depressing decor, cafeteria-style breakfast... I realise that this hotel was the cheapest we stayed in during our trip, so expectations need to be tempered accordingly, but it really wasn't even good value at half the price we paid. We couldn't get out of there quick... More

Korcula is a tough place to plan for as there are so many bad places! It is important to stay in Korcula town and Hotel Korstal is probably the better hotel but if like me you wanted to pay a lower rate then the Marko Polo is a good option. It's an easy walk to the Old Town, which is... More

Poshly perched on a hill overlooking Korcula town and bay, location of the Marco Polo is great (it’s about a 10 minute walk from town). Reviews are mixed about the hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised. Very friendly and efficient reception, and we’d booked a (cheaper) garden view room but got one facing the water (amazing views on the old... More

Korcula town is a beautiful walled town, well worth visiting. The Marko Polo hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the old town, and has a lovely view of the town walls, from across a small bay. The hotel is very comfortable, with large bedrooms and excellent bathrooms. The buffet breakfast was exemplary. More

We were supposed to be staying at another hotel in Korcula that gets pretty rotten reviews so when our guide told us we were switched to the Marko Polo we were happy even before seeing it. It was a really nice hotel so it lived up to our pre-mature happiness. It is large and feels a little bit like a... More
