This is lonely planet's top pick, so the place tends to be full and very crowded. So it is fairly noisy. But it's a nice traditional hotel, well run, with a very good restaurant and travel service. If you want a more quiet option, try the orient hotel just a 100 m away. It is the same type of traditional... More

We stayed for two nights at the Silk Hotel and it was a wonderful experience. Ali and his team are very hospitable and you get a lot for your money (we paid 550'000 rial per night for two persons). Expect a backpacker hotel with basic rooms but with a really good atmosphere. For vegetarians there are (unusual for Iran) a... More

Inspite of not being alot of facilities that you can use ,you are totally in peace and calm in there. Really clean and alot of good food, especially french fries and a soup called SHOULY. The staff are really polite and helpful. From there You can go to a good place easily, even on foot.

The Silk Road Hotel is, first and foremost, a meeting place for travelers. If you want to meet people cycling or motoring through Iran on their way to/from Central or South Asia, or if you simply want to meet other independent travelers and share tips on what to see and where to go, then this is the place for you.... Silk Road hotel is a couple of minutes walk to the main Mosque of Yazd. Rooms are clean and silent (after midnight), staff is friendly and helpful. The common areas of this traditional hotel have a great atmosphere and allow you to meet up visitors from all over the world. The breakfast was not very large, whilst the restaurant offers... More

I had booked to stay at Silk Road Hotel before arriving in Iran which was a great decision. The weather was cold and wet, however on entering the hotel I discovered even the courtyard was warm and welcoming as the entire area has been ‘roofed’ in clear sheeting and was heated. This large communal area has a great ambience, where... More

5 minutes walk to the main road, nice environment, food was ok, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, requested extra items were provided nicely, staff were extra nice and extra helpful. for the price it is a good deal, we checked out Kohan hotel before went to Silk road, but they were doing some reconstruction and it would have been... I could never recommend this place and I will never return here, for the simple fact they put CATS in PLASTIC BAGS (in front of their guests) and think that it is funny and acceptable. Whilst eating my dinner on my last evening at the guesthouse I witnessed the restuarant manager putting a cat in a plastic bag and zipping... More

Rooms are basic but OK. If you stay in the dorm you have to go up the stairs, and through two courtyards to find a washroom. The food was kinda 'meh'- who the heck makes fesenjoon with meatballs!? At least the dining area was convenient. WiFi was spotty and only works in the courtyard. The courtyard seems to be the... More
