It was such a lovely stay in Avillion. The team was wonderful for our corporate event there. Flexible and accommodating, rooms were ready as requested, issues addressed promptly and food was delicious. Free upgrade was given even without request and everything was ready ahead of time. Dealing with the sales team was also a breeze with speedy reply. Yes, in places the age of the hotel shows, it's not brand spanking new, but everything works as it should, location is central with clean beaches and great pools. Most importantly, the staff makes this hotel a gem. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely recommend your place for future events. Thank you again to the Avillion team.

Stayed in a water chalet with lots of character. The building is showing its age, but is still ageing gracefully. The bed is hard and the pillows pretty lumpy. A/C & ceiling fans work well to keep you cool. There is TV, a small fridge & Wi-Fi is included. I loved the semi outdoor shower - best part of the hotel! Along with the nice daybed by the windows. You can fish off your balcony when the tide is in, but it's a large sand flat. I don't think there is a whole lot to catch. Certainly those that we watched fishing weren't getting anything. There is access to the beach through the resort. There is parking onsite plus an adults only pool & family pool, gym, sauna & what looked like a day spa. Even a small animal petting area. You need to negotiate some stairs with your luggage. There is an on-site restaurant, but we didn't try it.

Old Review from previous stay a couple of years ago, followed by update, which resulted in a further reduction of ratings. Older review: Avillion is surrounded by lush greenery. It has several quaint touches like villas built over the sea with unique bathrooms comprising open-air showers and openings which allow you to see the waves below. It is fun to explore the grounds. There are little nooks and lookouts like "Author's Recluse" and resident peacocks roaming the grounds. There is also a spice farm, as well as pet feeding activity and reflexology path. These little surprises, plus the millions of tiny crabs along the beach, make it an enthralling place. However, there seem to be a lot of cost cutting in recent times. Only a bath mat and bath towels are supplied in the bathroom-no hand towels. They also insisted on cash for room service. I asked for a bucket of ice. Most hotels provide this at no charge so I was stunned to be asked for RM6 cash. The outdoor bar near the entrance is temporarily closed and the indoor play area is closed too. The reason given is that this is to ensure Covid safety. The public areas in the main building need a proper clean with a high-pressure cleaner to restore them to their original state. The bathroom area in our villa needed a thorough clean, as there was mold around the bathtub and sink as well as sediment around the shower area. The shower railing had black stains on it and there were bird/lizard droppings around the skylight. The adult swimming pool was lovely and quiet, but the water was not clear, for some reason, with very limited visibility. We stayed in a Premier Water Villa, which came with access to AviLounge, and two complimentary drinks as well as canapes. This was great. The spa is exemplary- well appointed with skilled therapists and a fabulous location. The staff are absolutely fantastic, always greeting guests with a hand on their hearts and always happy to help. When I asked for a freshly-made roti canai at the breakfast buffet, the young man there was happy to comply and sent it personally to my table. Update to reflect our most recent stay (Jan 15-18 2024): We felt compelled to give Avillion another chance as it really is a beautiful place. However we faced disappointment after disappointment during our stay. We have always held the hotel in high regard, as the design and surroundings are spectacular but our latest experience fell significantly short of our already low expectations, especially considering the premium price of more than RM 600 per night. We brought this up to management via email but received no reply whatsoever, which suggests they do not value loyal guests at all. The grounds are beautiful and the service at the reception and coucierge counter courteous and efficient. The spa is excellent. However, there has been a deterioration overall. No more freshly made roti canai- they are now pre made. The issues we encountered in our room were disheartening. Perhaps management do not employ enough staff to maintain housekeeping standards. 1. There was a huge child's scribble mark near the window. 2. There was mold around all the bathroom taps. 3. The shower area needed a proper clean as there was limescale on the tiles. 4. The toilet area smelled very strongly of cat urine. We asked this to be dealt with, but even though the cleaners came the smell was still there. It was nauseating. 5. We noticed the blinds have been updated but there are waterstains on them. 6. The windows needed cleaning. 7. We noticed that the bathroom had been recently painted, but no one had wiped the paint splatters off the bathtub area. 8. The hanging line over the bathtub was missing! 9. The bathmat had a huge stain on it. 10. The blanket cover had a hole in it! Furthermore, we observed lapses in service such as the absence of a towel person at the adult pool and room service meals being served in plastic containers, diminishing the overall experience.

I've been frequenting Avillion for the past 13yrs,sadly this will be the last stay for me.Check in was smooth on the 07.01.2024 for 2 nights stay. My first 2 rooms were standard,oh my good lord..everything was run down, shoddy and dirty.AC faulty and leaking, dusty and stuffy.Bathroom door locked out,I had to seek the help of the bellboy to open up the door. I was then assisted by the DM Ms Shireen to upgrade to garden villa but I was taken aback when she had informed me,"Maam please kindly make sure everything is working fine in the room".I was puzzled that the room allocated was next door upper level Room210,the passage was rundown and slippery.Staircase uneven and dented to top of it the safe was not working. How do we go out with complete peace of mind?To cut it short I was given another garden Room 200,which had similar issues but was so tired to move an inch because it was already sunset.Had dinner and the last straw came in as a shocker..the toilet! Was covered and not washed & disinfectant. I texted Ms Shireen and she was apologetic and suggested to switch room upgraded to sea villa. It was already too late into night about 940pm,she had sent over a bell boy with complimentary breakfast voucher to make up to all the days mishap and I willingly accepted. Next morning after the below average breakfast spread at 10am,I texted the duty managers number and I was told Ms Shireen was on off duty and was entertained by another DM Mr Dafiq. He gave me about 2 hrs of window to ensure my smooth check in into my seavilla Room 514,so we waited at our garden room because it was raining and had to be confined to wait. Finally about 11ish the sea room was ready and it was all good until the safe deposit was not functioning. The security had to come in to check and the literally had to bring in another box,job completed around 1214pm,my 24hrs gone. Honestly I was on the edge of anger n disappointment. I texted the DM to ask for extension of another night or a refund because of my ruined short break of shifting 4 room. DM informed that the operations manager Mr Suresh will have a word with me,of which he did and I gave him my two cent worth of constructive criticism. He agreed on a day of refund and took my feedback on a positive note. A. Severe Management exhaust B.Downsizing, understaffed & overworked existing staffs C.Failure of Housekeeping,Maintenance & Food & Beverage The only saving grace was the lovely staffs front office, bell personal, nepal security (minus maintainance & housekeeping as i did not meet them in person),overworked and stressed yet they delivered whatever that they could. I truly felt sorry for them. I cannot imagine what they have to go trough day in and out to keep things afloat. It's indeed disheartening to see such a beautiful property gotten old, tired and run down,in complete shambles and soon will serve the fate of every other ghost hotel property in PD. I loved the everthing of avillion PD,which once upon a time glory of PD and i was always eager to return of which is dying its death every single day now(my last trip was in August 2023). I will cherish some of the most beautiful memories served here and bid goodbye for now.

Booked this place for my family trip (8 of us). Upon checked in, one of our room has a severe leaking problem. It was down-pouring at that time and the table was completely soaked. Even the lamp on the desk was wet. But it was rectified instantly, by changing the room. Everything was okay then. However after the breakfast buffet, some of my family members started to feel sick. My brother is vomiting and had an upset stomach in the same night. The rest of us, was having massive stomach cramp and frequent trips to the toilet. We narrowed down to the breakfast as the culprit as this was the only food that we had together. Not sure any other guests are experiencing the same thing. Do look into it, as this was my child hood place where we spent our time almost every school holiday.

We stayed as a family at the Avillion resort for 2 nights and the family loved it. We had the 2 bedroom over water villa and it was beautiful and very spacious. Very ideal for a family if the kids are old enough to sleep on their own. The property is well located with plenty of food options just a short drive away. The hotel restaurant does not have a very wide selection of vegetarian options, but the pizza and vegetarian fried rice were great, my son loved it so much that we ordered it two days in a row. Would consider staying here again if we visit Port Dickson.

I love the location, the concept and the charm of the place. But the resort has deteriorated a LOT over the years. My most recent trip had the most problems: 1) aircond leaking in room, 2) toilet in room faulty, can’t flush, 3) even at the toilets outside the executive office (presumably where the management sits), the toilet door locks are faulty. Door can’t lock. 4) rooms are cleaned daily, but since everything is made of wood some of the wood is rotting and some of the bed sheets look stained and old. Overall the place is not maintained very well which is a shame because hr resort is very unique and beautiful. Staff are polite and food is excellent.

We had a small family gathering with 4 garden chalets in the month of Dec2023. Despite it being a long established resort in PD, they have done a great job with the maintenance (especially landscaping). Cochin Pool was well maintained and clean, probably because it is an adult only pool (kids not allowed). Sad to note the other pool next to Village Court was not inviting as guest DO NOT adhere to the swimming dress code and also never shower before entry. The management should look into this as its an eyesore to see people with full attire (t-shirts, long pants, etc) in the pool as though doing their laundry there. Probably its the "Malaysian style". As far as the staffs are concerned, they are very couteous and will always greet you with a smile. Our visit to AviLounge was indeed the highlight of our stay. A must to visit during sunset. Entrance fee of RM80 inclusive of 2 drinks (cocktail/beer) & snacks is value for money with spectacular sunset and great ambience. Also need to highlight is the honesty of housekeeping staff (Shamir) who found and return our wallet after we checked-out. Well done to the housekeeping team in training up such honest staff and also not forgetting the level of cleanliness of the rooms despite its aging condition. Overall, we do still prefer Avillion PD over the other water chalets available in PD as the tropical setting with its well maintained gardens is still the BEST in Port Dickson. We will definately be back.
