Picturesque and very colourful small hotel on the edge of the medina - so quite easy access for luggage. Helpful staff with limited english. Good kitchen with simple brreakfast and tasty dinner. Good looking swimming pool with view to die for - but too cold for swimming! Our room was dark so better to ask for front room with big... More

Overall impression is good. But I stayed on a first floor suite, and the noise coming from upper room is not acceptable for the price you pay for the suite. I think noise comes mainly from the toilet. More

Our stay was wonderful. This was one of my favorite places in Morocco. The lobby, the dining area, the rooms, the pool area are all wonderfully decorated. The lighting at night in the courtyard was lovely. The staff could not be nicer. It is set on a hill so you can see the village below from your room. There are... More

turned up in chaouen having no idea what was there, but looked on bookings.com and saw this hotel. Possibly the nicest (not poshest, but nicest) hotels i've every stayed in, beautifully decorated rooms with heating (it was freezing outside), lovely warm showers, relaxed and friendly staff. Great location near the waterfalls and the old medina, and nice views over the... More

Hands down, the most wonderful, charming, beautiful, and comfortable stay in our 3-week travel throughout Morocco. We loved Chefchaouen and this guesthouse so, so much that we extended our trip by 2 more days in lieu of south of Spain. You will fall in love with the lobby area - sun shines through the windows during breakfast time, fireplace and... More

This hotel was one of the best we stayed at during a three week tour of Morocco with Intrepid travel. The hotel is about 10 mins walk from the medina. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The meals from the hotel restaurant are very good. The rooms, while small, are cheerfully decorated, comfortable and clean. The only problem I... More

I would agree with most of the reviews already here, so I won't repeat what has already been said. There are dogs next door to the hotel that bark continuously most of the night. I would suggest a pair of earplugs if you intend on getting any sleep. We stayed in one of the rooms furthest from the entrance. Other... More

After driving through the traffic conjested town of Chechaouen and down a bumpy dirt road to get to Dar Echchaouen, we were delighted with the little oasis of calm and the pretty rooms. Also the friendly reception staff made us feel welcome. The walk to the Medina is easy and took us past the river where the local women wash... More

Our experience of Dar Echchaouen was slightly different than the previous reviews. First, our room, which was located near reception and over the courtyard, was incredibly noisy. There was no chance of sleeping until the last guest had retired. Similarly, we were awake when the first guest ventured down to breakfast in the morning. We were not made to feel... More

A traditionally decorated and arranged hotel which has a garden and small swiming pool with amazing views of the mountains around. The 'suite' was not enormous, but sufficient and had a wonderful view of the mountains (we had asked to move from the ground floor suite we were put in, as it had a view only of the reception building...
