Ometepe Island is an expanding destination in Nic. They are building an airort so you don't have to take the "ferry from hell" to get there. My favorite night in Nicaragua was when we stayed in Villa Paraiso on Ometepe. Great cabins, food and atmosphere for a great price. I would certainly go back.
