Stayed here in July before catching the 20 min bus ride to Machu Picchu. Room and bathroom clean. First room was on the inside of the building with no window except one that.opens in to the corridor, no privicy and dark. No problem to change to a room at the back of the hotel, very quite. While not the worst hotel at which we have stayed, it is run down. Our philosophy is that "it's only one night," it was clean, small and a decent breakfast. We got there late, went to bed and left after breakfast. What can we say? Would we book it? No. We were part of a tour.

This hotel usually receives terrible reviews, and it is easy to understand why. Other contributors had my room with its sheer drape over a window that didn't latch, into a hallway. No window to the outside at all. The 12' square louver in the shower was enough tp allow barking dogs and screaming children to be heard until much too late. Very poor neighborhood. Yes, it's Peru. Okay, Peru is a "developing country." It is unrealistic to expect standards normal in more developed countries. Nevertheless, this place is pretty sad. We were on an Overseas Adventure tour. This hotel must have moved, because it did not overlook the train station or the river. Our room was nice enough, although the TV didn't work...but hey, we're in Peru!
