We were pleasantly surprised by this accommodation. We were met at the train station and shown the way to the hostel (although the person didn't speak a single word to us on the way!). The room was clean and comfortable with hot water. The breakfast was available early and was standard South American bread and jam. The location is good... More

I stayed there for a night, like probably most travelers to Machu Micchu do. Given all the bad reviews about Aguas Calientes, I have to say that I was happily surprised with the quality of this accommodation. First I got picked up at the train station and walked to the hotel (which is not that easy to find). I was... More

This hostel was very clean, the room where I slept was very comfortable and had plenty of room for my and my girlfriend. The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean as well. Something that I really appreciated is that our bathroom had a shower with plenty of pressure and hot water (real hot water not lukewarm). The staff... More

Aguas Calientes is good for one or two nights tops, any longer and you will really struggle to find things to do that aren't 'going to Machu Pichu' which is presumably why you're here anyway. On our first night at this B&B I could swear we were the only guests and only a couple more rooms were in use on... More

Most rooms do not have windows, combine that with rainy season and the room was really moist. the bedsheets were even moist. It was kind of cave like. The noise really traveled through the hotel. the breakfast included eggs, which was great. Also, the staff was great! I can´t imagine there are a ton of great options, I would stay... More

Ok, no-one WANTS to stay in Aguas Calientes...it's horrible and overpriced. But we all want to see Macchu Picchu early in the morning before it gets too crowded (and it gets VERY crowded). So a night in Aguas Calientes is sadly unavoidable. Once you've adjusted your expectations suitably low, this place is actually ok. It's a hotel rather than a... More

I stayed at Pirwa B&B after hiking the Inca Trail. Pros - Large clean room - Centrally located near shops and restaurants - Hot shower worked well, heaven after 4 days without showering! - Breakfast started at 4.30 am, great if you needed to head up early to Machu Picchu - Helpful staff - Economical, we paid $42.50 USD for... Pirwa B&B Machu Picchu is a pretty comfortable stay, tucked away from the main drag of Aquas Calientes. Perhaps slightly difficult to find for some. Rooms are tiled and clean, beds are quite comfortable, linen clean. Staff are quite helpful and provide a decent map of the immediate area (not that it really needs one due to the towns size).... Staff was friendly, but not really helpful. There was no power in the morning, which the staff knew would happen, but did`t inform us of. We left around 5:30 am to catch the bus to Machu Picchu, but the promised breakfast, which started at 4:30 was not available. Room was basic and the shower was warm.
