Love: My husband and I traveled to Peru last year in November and booked an Inkaterra Suite that comes with a cute Patio overlooking the orchid garden, private heated plunge pool (more like a Jacuzzi), and beautiful outdoor/indoor showers. This hotel was literally the best thing that happened to us after we missed our connecting flight and had a super... More

Stayed in there on the way to Machu Picchu. Was surprised it was so near the railway but that did not increase the noise at all. The staff were excellent even the porter was introducting the facilities to us as we walked to our bedroom. The bedroom was so nice with a proper fireplace which we got them to light... More

We arrived at the Inkaterra after a 7-day hike, including the 4-day Inka Trail. Needless to say, any hotel providing a comfortable bed and a hot shower seemed a luxury at this point but the Inkaterra was more than that. The gardens and the bird watching are amazing and the rooms are nicely spread out on the property. There are... More

We let our travel agent convince us that one night in the Machu Picchu area was enough. If you are staying with InkaTerra, ONE NIGHT IS NOT ENOUGH. We stayed in a suite which boasted its own private patio, a separate hot tub area which included a full outdoor bed and outdoor shower, a fireplace and a novel bathroom design... More

The Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel was nice. It was not great though. The pool was dirty and a yellowish color, there were no signs to get to your room, so we got lost a lot, especially at night. I was disappointed, because I'd heard only good things about this hotel.

The hotel is set up as a series of units scattered around extensive grounds - so large that they offer various free, guided nature walks. The restaurants attached to the hotel provided the best meals we encountered during a four week trip around south america. The service could not be faulted - it was professional, unobtrusive and friendly. The location... More

This hotel/resort is fantastic! It has nature trails, bird watching, eco sensitive activities. It is tucked into the mountain at the base of Aguas Calientes. Easy to get to Machu Picchu; the Inka trail and explore the town. I would not stay anywhere else. Food was fantastic, wonderful, cozy bar and excellent decor. I wish we had had 3 nights... More

This was our second stay at an Inkaterra property while in Peru, and we loved both. The rooms were small, but super modern, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was great, and dinner was even better (both were included in our reservation). I would highly recommend this hotel!

If your schedule allows, spend two or three days at this hotel and make it your home base for visits to Machu Picchu. Not only will you thank yourself for a stay at one of the most amazing, romantic, pampering, luxurious properties on earth, but you'll be able to appreciate Machu Picchu more if you don't try and cram it...
