Hotel Holy Grail is, of course, a 5 star hotel at 2 star prices - it's what we're all looking for, but give up on ever achieving this in South Mumbai, which has to be the most expensive tourist area in India. That said, Residency Hotel in the Fort area (just North of Colaba) is having a fair go at... More

Pros - great location, with a lot outside of interest, and easy to reach a lot of places - nice room, and reasonably comfortable bed, kept quite clean - nice breakfast through room service - some helpful staff - internet and printer in reception area Cons - some of the staff - one of the guys on reception was great... Stayed in the Residency for 2 nights, our room was surprisingly spacious, very clean and included even a LCD TV. Very silent, no street noises audible in the room. Centrally located so you have railway station, gateway of India or other sights within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. More

Loved being here - stayed in the new wing - the room, although a bit small was very comfortable - most comfy bed I've slept on in India!. The hotel is close to everything - walked to the Gateway of India , Colaba, marine Drive etc. The young gentleman on reception was very friendly and helpful and so were the... More

Hotel in great location 15 mins walk to Colaba and staff couldnt do enough for us. There is some refurb working going on and the new rooms although a little on the small side are lovely and modern, clean and comfortable! More

Stayed in The Residency last week and was extremely disappointed. When we arrived we were informed that renovation work was taking place but that this was only during the day and there would be no noise or disruption after dark. No problem we said, we would be out during the day anyway. BIG Mistake!! When we arrived back at 8pm the... More

We stayed for 2 nights and I can only give my highest recommendations for this hotel. Do not expect a 5 star luxury but for the standards of Indian hotels and the ridiculous prices they charge in the international hotel chains, this is the best option. We arrived in the evening on our way back from Goa. Check in was... More

Centrally located hotel, good value for the money. Our room was up some narrow stairs but was comfortable. Some rennovation going on. There's a public computer in the lobby for internet use but usually someone is on it already. The neighborhood is crowded and noisy although safe to walk and there are the usual beggars on the street. Breakfast was... More

We stayed four nights here at the end of our 6 week trip around South India in Jan 2012. We had a room in the new part of the hotel. It was small. but well designed with modern decor and very comfortable - with good bed, side tables, flat screen tv, a/c, fridge, good bathroom with lots of hot water.... More

The hotel is quite confortable. In a busy location but our room was on a side street no much noise. We slept in a dependance few meters away from the main building. As many hotel in India you may have nice furniture and new appliances in the room but you do not find the standard of cleaness you expect to find... More
