“very quiet and nice place to stay in Madras”

we are a couple, stayed 2 weeks in the hotel.

+very nice and incredibly quiet Madras area
+very friendly, attentionate crew
+clean and nice rooms
+best quality/price ratio in the Gopalapuram area (we looked and compared with 6 other hotels in the area)
+wifi
-10 minutes walk for first bus station
-10 minutes walk from shops/restaurants
-you will need to hire rickshaws to visit Madras More

Proximity to Apollo Hospital Chennai was one main reason we chose this spot. More a guest house - but rooms clean quite comfy in size for two - certainly can't complain about furniture, fixtures, air conditioning, Room Cafe/Tea maker. Good room service. Shower hot water not working - but with some pressure got it repaired in a few hours. I think in-house maintenance staff rather inadequate. Ground and one floor = no lift.
Breakfast just OK, to-order only. little choice. However we had a dinner party for a few guests = full marks to the chef and the dishes !
Polite and helpful reception staff. The owner lady has good taste in planting lot of greenery and garden decoration with statues etc.
Overall a bit pricy for the set up - but I wd stay there again if visiting Chennai. Near main shopping areas too. More
