This place is great. The family who owns it couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. It sits at the top of Darjeeling so it has one of the best views in town. The restaurant/library is the perfect place to enjoy delicious Tibetan food and bundle up with a good book. As if that wasn't enough the roof top boasts spectacular... More

Stayed in Room A1 in April 2013. Paid 600rs per night initially, then - upon returning from Sikkim for a night - found they'd put the price up to 800rs per night, which I was able to negotiate to 700rs. The room is clean, with lots of natural light and nice view towards the bustling town below. Ample pillows and... More

For a budget hotel, the Aliment is great. It is a hike up the hill but there is a back road that is not steep and a very interesting walk. The rooms are clean enough and the hot water was good. Adeep and the little cooks are what makes this place so great. Adeep never stops smiling and loves to... More

It is not a fancy looking hotel and is barely there with the ambience. But what they lack in style they make up with good service, good food, and going slightly out of the way to make things happen. I am especially glad that they got us a trek set at very short notice. And the food is rather remarkable.... More

Location was just right. My room was recently updated and very comfortable. The bed in my room provided me the BEST night's sleep in a long time. The staff was also very helpful in suggesting about which place is good and which is nt, even i only ate in the hotel restaurant once but the food was good. I was... More

We stayed at Aliment in the beginning of October 2012 and had a fantastic time with "Uncle" and his family and staff. We had not made a reservation but the helpful reception staff found us a good room and made us feel welcome from the moment we got there. The guesthouse is run by an ex gorkha soldier ("uncle") and... More

We had a long journey flying up from Kochi to Bagdogra and then travelling by Jeep 90km from Bagdogra to Darjeeling. After staying in Tower View Hotel for one night (not recommended), we moved over to Hotel Aliment and could not have been happier. The room was exceptionally clean, with spectacular views over Darjeeling and running hot water (evenings only).... More

After a 4 day train trip from the south of India (varkala) and spending an hour and a half inspecting guest houses in darjeeling, a lomg walk up the hill, and we arrived at the aliment hotel. Nothing to look at, but as soon as we went in, the staff were so friendly we knew this is where we would... More

Drove up to Darjeeling in an auto rickshaw so we though about finding somewhere easily accessible a mate, in his infinite wisdom chose the first one alphabetically in his guidebook. Arrived at 2pm, the group got split up and the last member of the team made it there around 5pm. Once we got there though we were met with friendly... More

I first stayed here 12 years ago and when I recently returned to Darjeeling I was very happy to find the Aliment still open and still managed by the same family. It's a good budget/backpacker option...cheap, clean and well located. The family who own the Aliment are lovely and all the staff work hard to keep their guests happy. There... More
