Went to Gabriel in Feb, at carnival time. Have to say, it wasn't our first choice but due the the carnival we were facing a lot of difficulty finding any other hotel. I had a good experience with the Guest house. The people are very warm and friendly. I do recommend the guesthouse. The Calangute beach is just a 3-4 minute walk away. The guesthouse has a very homely feel to it. Go for it. 
