My friend had just arrived from Scotland for the first time and I decided to show him Melaka before moving on to KL. The Baba House was conveniently located off Jonker Walk so we could easily make our way round town. The price was affordable, front desk helpful and kind, and the room we were given, whilst small, was pretty... More

We found our room at the Baba House to be large, clean and comfortable with really efficient air con, free wi-fi, safe and, yes, it had a window (2 in fact!). Unsurprising really, as we had pre-booked online and specifically selected a room with a window (that's what room descriptions on booking websites are for). Although our room was not... More

We had planned a weekend away from Singapore to show a friend the sights of Melaka. We prebooked 2 rooms and on checking in we're told they didn't have windows. Not a big deal but we hadn't been warned when we booked. Place is pretty basic and run down, not at all to the standard of Puri over the road.... More

Certainly a no frills place - have stayed in Hotel Puri opposite and the experience there was much better. Nevertheless, if you are just looking for a hotel (ie not a backpacker hostel) at a convenient location and you know the place well enough to find your own breakfast place (in-house breakfast was rather bad), and especially you are planning... The Baba House is a historical Hotel with Baba & Nyonya characters. We stayed in the deluxe room (New wings) at The Baba House for Chinese New year eve. The price is reasonable. The room and the toilet are clean. Dont expect full range of TV channels in the room, only local channels. The staff is helpful but we think... More

Receptionist is friendly and helpful. The price is quite expensive compared to the Hotel Puri and da som inn with modest service. Normal breakfast. In a restaurant next to the hotel .. Do not have high expectations. The scene in the hotel is quite beautiful. Hotel parking is always full More

Set just off Jonker street, hotel is great if you wish to experience the historical side of Malacca. Rooms are small but clean with god air conditioning. Staff are very helpful and accomodating to requests. Free WiFi is available. Furniture Are period pieces. Baba house is located to numerous food outlets. Location, ambience, comfort. These are the key features of this hotel. It is located ideally, parallel to Jonker Street the hub of the tourist experience of local shops and eating places. Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6pm to 10pm Jonker Street comes alive with street stalls and local Karaoke on the community stage. Baba House is close enough to get... More
