Our stay at Maqai Eco Resort was amazing. We were safely transported to and from Qamea island by boat, driven by Pella and Rafer. Elanoa and Cathy made sure all the activities were well organised and that our needs were taken care of. The accommodation covered all basic needs and was cleaned amazingly on a daily basis by Sala and... More

I will make this short and snappy. I agree with most reviewers that it is a paradise etc. However, do not pay in advance!! I did, for 14 days. Had to leave 4 days early, did you think I got a refund? I sent 3 emails, got replies , all with "We will refund you tomorrow , straight to you... More

Bula Vinaka. Thank you for the paradise comments and sincere apologies about the refund confusion. As we are a small remote island destination, our accounts team target to execute all credit card refunds at the end of every month. At the end of April, your requested credit card details were deemed invalid by our bank and thus we were unable... More

I went to Fiji for 2 weeks and stayed here for my last 5 nights... To be honest I wish I'd gone straight to maqai, I could have easily spent the entire time on this beautiful piece of paradise. The resort is amazing, the food is mouth watering and always plentiful, the staff are the friendliest people I have ever... More

We originally booked for 7 nights but extended to 9 nights because we were having such a great time. Transferring the extra nights from Tuvununu Lodge was easy being sister resorts. Cathy and all the staff were wonderful, Big Tony, Rosie, Charlie, Sala, Par, Balei, Matau and Tex just to name a few went out of there way to welcome... More

I was lucky enough to spend almost a month up at Maqai during December, 2012. This place is beautiful, a real alternative to the trodden track in Fiji - you'll find the "real" fijians up here, whether it be working at Maqai itself, or the happy kids and families in the surrounding villages. At Maqai itself the days fly by,... More

We only spent one night at Maqai, but it was the perfect end to our 3 weeks in Fiji! I really liked our tent (with flush toilet and shower), its position 25 feet from the beautiful calm cove and lapping waves. Simon rocks with his music (and spear fishing) and Tony rocks with his Kava!!! Oh yea and Rosie rocks... More

This is paradise! If you are going to Fiji and just have time to visit one place, you should go here! Pay a bit more to stay in the bungalows on the beach, it is well worth the extra costs, the dorm is a bit crowded and there is a lot of mosquitos. So stay on the beach instead, much... More

Bula!!! We stayed in Maqai in November 2012. We were due to stay for 1 or 2 nights and ended up staying for 4. We would have stayed longer if our flight home wasn't calling!!! All the staff are really friendly and welcoming and you soon become part of the family. The food (Thank you Rosie) is absolutely delicious! You... More
