If you are from the states, do not think of this as a Courtyard by Marriott property. Although those are fine, this property is more like a typical high end Marriott and is a hotel, not a motor lodge. The amenities are plentiful, including an iron and ironing board in the room which is not typical in most Chinese hotels.... More

The breakfast choice was almost the same as the last time I was there. There were a lot more English speaking staff around than the last time I stayed at the hotel. So this time communication was not an issue. The rooms that they provide on the tariff is quite good! The staff was quite polite and accommodating.

I chose this hotel since it was within walking distance of our office. It is situated within reasonable distance of the CBD, the Bund area and areas where evening outings and dining options are available. Your in Xujiahui so there are some good shopping choices and restaurant options at Grand Gateway Mall, but with traffic being so bad in Shanghai, I'd rather stay closer to where I frequented, like Marriot in HongQiao Shanghai. The whole team on the executive floor is excellent but I would like especially to mention Jason Wang whose service to customers old and new is exemplary - what a fine young man and how proud of him Marriott should be

Stayed in Marriott Xujiahui for a week during Feburary. I gotta say this is a rather decent hotel for business people, extremely Convenient location, lots of great restaurants around and easy transportation. Friendly staff, clean room and comfy bed, not to mention excellent breakfast choices. Room has transparent glassdoor for bedroom/shower, so maybe awkward for families.
