stayed for 1 night. the reception lounge was just ok...front counter ladies can speak very little english. the rooms are small..super hard bed...the only best thing about the hotel is the location is very near to nanjing road and the price is reasonable. More

Charms suffers from a dated decor. By the lifts going to the guest rooms, there was a massive leak in the ceiling that suddenly occurred out of nowhere while we were waiting to check in. The hotel is located very suitably in Shanghai. the staff is very efficient and well dressed. The food was a problem for us as Indian food was not available. The hotel is in the center of everything. It’s one block behind the main street and that affects the price you pay (it was much cheaper than most of the central hotels we considered). Came here for a weekend in between a travel-volunteer experience in Xian, It is a great location in that it's near the Bund, the discount and high end shopping plazas. Hyper, expernsive. In Xian, a beer is about 25 cents - here it is about 8 dollars. But perhaps that's Shanghai rather than the hotel...... I had a soul-destroying view.... More

Again, group check in was lengthy. Was given a room with NO view (basically, an atrium in a high-rise, claustrophobic).
