My husband and I spent our first 2 nights here. The cottages were great, beds comfortable, and breakfast was tremendous! We booked a tour through the hotel (even though travel sites say to book in town). Our tour guide, Christian, was terrific! My husband and I were the only 2 on our tour.We noticed other larger groups on a tour... More

Pros: This hotel is a several miles from downtown Fortuna, which can be really noisy until the wee hours. The hotel is surrounded by similar spa/resort types and the area is very quiet, and relaxing. All rooms seem to have some view of the volcano. The breakfast spread was amazing! Cons: It is far from the city and one has... More

My husband and I were here for 3 nights. We loved it. The rooms are all individual cottages with decks. They are nice and rustic. Comfy and clean. The AC was great. The hotel staff was super nice. The bartender at the pool was super great! They helped us plan day trips and those were great too. The only bad... More

I was not so sure about how great the standards of this hotel was going to be since my stay was a part of a Living Social deal. Well, I was very happy with everything. It actually surpassed my expectations. The hotel upgraded us to a suite since it was available. The dinning room/resturant has spectacular views of the volcano,... More

The hotel is situated right at the foot of the volcano,so if you are lucky you can see its top cloudless in the morning hours directly from the resraurant. The rooms are very spacious, clean and good beds. Quiet location near a hiking trail. Breakfast and dinner buffet are plentyfull and good. You can make trips by quad,on horseback or... More

This was our first stop on our Costa Rica vacation. We spent two nights here, then headed off to a luxury resort on the Pacific coast. First, it's a quiet place. There's no night life here. That was great, since we were tired and wanted to sleep each night. Second, the pool is cold. My daughter went in and loved... More

This hotel did not disappoint. Great location, nice clean rooms, super view, friendly and helpful staff. Close to many of the local area attractions. Only downfall was the matress on the pullout couch - it did NOT pass for a 2nd bed, would have been more comfortable to sleep on the floor. More

This hotel is built on an expansive scale and has pretensions of being a very upmarket hotel. But to our group it fell very flat. The suites we had were huge but lifeless. There was no way of opening the windows to get fresh air (fine if you like AC but simply not necessary when we were there). Also the... More

Excellent resort....Very friendly staff...It is located at the base of the Arenal Volcano...It is also under 5 miles from most famous thermal hot springs. The resort has a wide range of activities to keep everyone engaged. We did zip-lining, horse back riding, rappelling and guided hike to the Arenal volcano. The staff/guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. It was economical... More
