Sol y Luna Lodge was everything we hoped for and then some! The huts had all the basics - kitchen with mini-fridge, coffee maker & hotplate. Sitting area with TV that we never used, but a nice option. Comfy bed with mosquito netting if you choose open doors rather than A/C at night. The best was the back porch with... More

Enjoy your own cabin with a bedroom, living room and a kitchen. Relax on a hammock in the afternoon and listen to the birds sing! Walk to Playa Grande which is a spectacular beach to not only surf. You have to walk the white sands to appreciate the beauty! Sometimes you are in a crowd of surfers and the next... More

this place is amazing and beautiful! we went durring the dry season yet the property was lush and green. 5 minute walking distance from the town and the beach yet still so secluded that you dont feel like youre part of some hotel chain. this place seems so secluded that even many of the locals didnt know about it and... We loved the very unique and beautiful surroundings. The landscaped grounds and the rustic, air conditioned bungalows with a nice pool for cooling off, are little peace of heaven. It's a short walk to the beach(Playa Grande) for swimming , surfing and amazing sunsets. Alex greeted us with a very warm welcome to his Sol y Luna Lodge. It was a great... More

We stayed three nights at Sol y Luna Lodge during our visit in Costa Rica. We liked this place very much, the bungalows are very rustic and nice, we had air conditioning and enough space in the room. The place is in the middle of nature, so it is very quite and private. If you want to go to an... More

We stayed at the Sol y Luna Lodge for 8 days in April, the camp is a short walk to the beach and you can walk to a couple different restaurants/bars. Its best to have a car if your going to stay here, especailly if you are surfing. Tamarindo, Playa Flamingo, Playa Negra, Marbella, Avellanas were all within about an... More

We loved this spot. It was rustic and beautiful. The pool area wonderful. About a 5-10min walk to the beach on an easy trail with surf boards. It is off aways on a dirt road and makes it so quiet and peaceful. I can't say enough about the staff. We are so happy that we stayed here.

We spent three nights here. It was awesome. Quite, private and perfect. There are two hammocks off the back of the bungalow where we relaxed when we had enough of the pool or ocean. The pool was 99 percent of the time just us, the beach in this area doesn't have many people. It was hot during the day but... More

We reserved for 2 nights but left after only 1. It was super hot, there was no a/c, and we were advised to keep the windows closed at night (for possible break ins?), so it never cooled off in our cabana. There were no mosquito nets, so all night we were just hot and uncomfortable and getting eaten alive. The... More

My wife and I stayed here in May 2011. The host Alex made you feel like you were at home the moment you stepped out of your car. Our Cabin was fabulous. My wife loved the Jacuzzi tub. Plenty of hot water for showers. Loved the Howler monkeys passing right by our back deck in the AM. While swimming in... More
