Good for a one day stay. We rented the apartment. The frist ting we had to do was doing dishes from the people who left that day. When we told the staff. They did not care. Some of (not all) the employers/ovner are kind of rude. At all the bookingsites & Lonely Planet says that you can use a tropical... More

I think that given the behaviour of this couple, we were incredibly accommodating. They came back from a night out in the early hours of the morning very drunk. They proceeded to wake people in nearby rooms because they were repeatedly falling over and crashing into things. Then there was the arguing, the loud sobbing... When we went to ask... More

I stayed in a private room on the second floor - well worth the extra money. The room was clean and quiet and the hotel was kind enough to give me an early morning wake up knock. My issue was the toilet and the bathroom down the hall - the toilet tank was leaking and there was a pond of... More

I stayed here on and off during a 30 day trek through Costa Rica in January / February 2012. The staff is very friendly, the place is very clean, and the location is close to downtown without being, downtown. I took full advantage of there being a tour office within the guesthouse, Celine and Chloe were so nice and helpful... More

Arrived mid afternoon and was so plesantly surprised. My friend and I had the upstairs apartment with private balcony, kitchen, bath and bedroom. What a great space for the money! I had never been to San Jose before and this great place was so close to National Museum, Park, shopping and good restaraunts. We walked everywhere! Staff was friendly and... More

We stayed here twice in a double room. This place is good value with a decent lounge area, free computer with internet access to use and free secure parking. The beds are very large and comfortable - super king size. The staff are also helpful. The free tea and coffee is great although the free breakfast is just 2 slices... More

Stayed here twice on our trip and can definitely recommend it. The more expensive queen rooms are worth the extra $10. The only thing I didn't like was people smoking in the small courtyard just off the main common area. They may as well be smoking inside. A cooked breakfast was worth paying extra for. Location was good 10 minute... More

We reviewed every place we stayed in Costa Rica and mainly gave 4s and 5s - but this place was terrible and we're genuinely baffled by the decent reviews. Our experience began badly and got worse. The receptionist who greeted us on the evening of December 22 was surly and unhelpful. The room we were taken to looked nice enough... More

I'm sorry you had such a disappointing stay at Costa Rica Guesthouse. We thankfully have consistently great feedback about our staff, I'm sorry you found otherwise. I'm also sorry if there were stains on the towels, that is not par for the course and we would have happily exchanged them, had we known. We did a big remodel of a... More

Stayed here for the first & last night of our two weeks in CR. Was disappointed with the breakfast on the first visit. We were in the lounge for ages waiting for breakfast despite 3 staff on duty who didn't acknowledge us. Then we found it was only cold, dry toast & they were out of coffee. Water for tea... More

We stayed in a double room for a few nights in August and came back again for a night in November. The room was spacious and clean. We also had a balcony. Bathroom was simple and clean. There were two computers for public use but wi-fi was available. Free breakfast was two slices of toast with jam, tea and coffee.... More

We stayed here the first two nights while we planned our trip. (The bed is more comfortable than my own back home). We travelled north and we travelled south but came back here each time we passed through San Jose. Staff very helpful and switched on. highly recommend. More
