I wouldn't recommend this place. The building is very charming at first, but the noisy train at 6am to 10:30pm can ruin it all! A hidden gem! Quiet, relaxed, clean,, good breakfast and coffee, internet, secure. Very comfortable, airy, sunlight, Lots of living room, well decorated. Bi-lingual staff, quiet and safe/beautiful neighborhood. I am a businessman from USA and an experienced Central American traveler, having lived in Belize, Nicaragua, and San Jose. The value is great. Stayed at the 1492 because of its location. Nice enough and clean enough and convenient enough with a good breakfast but, room was so small we had to go outside just to change our mind.
