Susie and Alan are really great hosts and their home is in a great location at the base of the mountain. Our room was large, nicely appointed and very comfortable. The home feels very new, fresh and modern. Breakfast was delicious and Alan makes a great packed lunch upon request for a small fee. We very much enjoyed our time... More

We have been here two nights in our honeymoon travel and we found it warm and cozy from the start. We booked the Tongariro trek, and Alan and Susie managed all of that: transport and packed lunch (great sandwiches Alan!). The room was big and clean, with a kind gift for our honeymoon!!! Laundry service was efficient and very cheap.... More

Ohakune should be our "base camp" for our time on the North Island. It was a great spot for many great biking or hiking experiences such as the famous Tongariro Crossing, We have chosen Manuka Lodge as our B&B and it was a great choice. The room was great. It was very comfortable, clean and with a nice bathroom. The... More

This classy little B&B in the must-visit North Island destination of Ohakune was fresh and a joy to to visit. The rooms are generous with excellent ensuites and it is well located in town. The owners were very friendly and keen to share there local knowledge. Breakfast was lovely and relaxed. Given that it has been purpose built I don't... More

We stayed at Manuka Lodge 3 days during our honeymoon. The room was really spacious and very well decorated. Alan and Sousie are so nice and helpful. They helped us with the organization of the Tongariro crossing. Breakfast is delicious and Sousie's muffins are the best we've ever had. Thank you for everything! More

We stayed at Manuka Lodge for two nights after driving up from Wellington. It was our first time staying at a B&B in NZ and they set a very high standard for the rest of the trip. Our room was quiet and very well appointed, the lodge was spotless, and the breakfast was great. Alan and Susie were excellent hosts,... More

We were charmed by the Makuna Lodge and Alan and Susie. We stayed two nights and did the alpine crossing in between. Nice rooms, great breakfast and charming hosts. What else could you want? More

Alan and Susie built Manuka Lodge as a B&B, and the design of the house rather suggests this. The little reception desk in the entrance hall perhaps militates against its having quite the intimate and informally welcoming atmosphere of some other B&Bs one has stayed in, but our hosts were friendly and charming, our room was immaculately clean and spacious... We spent two nights in Okahune but only one night at the Manuka Lodge. We wish we had booked both nights there. It was a lovely B&B. We were there Christmas eve. On Christmas morning we were served a sumptuous champagne breakfast by Alan and Susie. Our room was quiet, clean and very comfortable. This is a new lodge and... More
