The warmest place in Ohakune with an amazing host Jo, with her great porridge in the morning and lovely smile nothing seems a problem before heading up the mountain. Arriving back you have all the hot water you need to thor... More

we loved Arawa Lodge - Jo goes out of her way to make you feel included, the lodge is warm and welcoming and comfortable. It was good value for us as a family of three, plus one friend. I liked how very clean the lodge was, how we were treated like old friends and how we found new friends. The... More

In August 2012 my son and I decided to go snow boarding in the North Island. We came across Arawa Lodge by chance and how lucky we were. Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at Arawa Lodge. Good value with an excellent location. Our kids enjoyed meeting other guests and the kids ended up playing cards together. Good selection of movies. Our room was small, but we easily managed and weren't in there except to sleep anyway. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were... More

Our favourite place to stay in Ohakune. Jo is so lovely and super accommodating!! Always makes sure you're comfortable and happy, and the lodge is such a great environment to be in! We did not enjoy our stay at all. Firstly the hostess Jo made us and some of the other guests feel as though we were inconveniencing her. Comments like "I already do enough cleaning after people" (This was a comment made after we cleaned our dishes after use and put them aside to dry while we relaxed a little after... More

Our family of 4 stayed for 2 nights and really appreciated the hostess Jo's, welcoming & inclusive attitude. The kids loved being able to mix with others, play games and have some space to hang out, which is often not possible in motels & hotels. The breakfasts were a great start to the day before skiing and the lounge a... More

A friendly, homely lodge with an environment that is inclusive for all, but also respects each guests privacy. Jo is a fantastic host who ensures all are happy and comfortable. A great place for families but also ideal for individuals looking for a more chilled place to stay. Will definitely be back!
