We arrived at the lodge late at night, after a long drive from Valdez. I gave it a 4 start rating, because it fits perfectly here. The room was small but sufficient, dont expect the food in the restaurant to be fine dining but it fits the rugged surroundings and area. Friendly staff, good selection in the bar, nicely decorated too. Recommended.

Mold on bathroom ceiling, low water pressure, outlets so old they wouldn't hold a plug. tiny towels. Nice people but lodge needs a little TLC before I would stay there again. Plenty of better options for your money if you book in advance. But the staff was nice.

We had the log cabin, which was more conveniently located to town than main complex. It was very roomy, but my main complaint is that it wasn't clean. Lipstick on cups, grease and food residue in pans, dusty, greasy surfaces etc. We were glad to leave.

We got a room without reservation, for which we thank the lady at the bar. Bar and dining-room with special hunting-lodge decor. Basic (soft beds) but very clean, along with private bath. Conveniently located in downtown Talkeetna. No breakfast included. Deserves a 9.
