I think this place has the best location on mainland Bora Bora, right on the prettiest stretch of Matira beach! The sand is only a few steps away, especially if you booked one of the two beachfront bungalows. The bungalows are big with two double beds, closets, a seating area with outdoor space and of course toilet and shower. There is a fridge, but no TV and no air condition. The bungalow's drawback is that is so dark; the floors, walls and ceiling are made of dark wood and there are no real windows, only wooden jalousies that you most likely want to keep closed due to mosquitos. A tasty breakfast is included (coffee/tea, baguette, different jams, pain chocolat, croissants and juice). Staff is nice and helpful and they speak English. A transfer from the dock in Vaitape is offered for a fee and wifi is also extra.…

Miranda gives excellent customer service. She will help you set up whatever excursions you want to do. The private bungalows were so nice to have and was so nice to have breakfast served to us on our deck each morning. The view of the ocean is awesome from there and you have a wonderful beach right there also and you can walk to a few places to eat from there too.

The hotel is located next to one of the most beautiful beaches in French Polynesia: Matira beach. I stayed in the beach bungalow (the one closest to the beach) and it was great to open the door every morning and have the beach and the beautiful turquoise sea in front of you. The beach is public so it's a good choice to lock the door when you're not there. The breakfast is simple but it's good and they leave it every morning at your door. The bungalows are roomy, the only disadvantage is that they have no air conditioning. I stayed in May when the weather is hot and humid but not excessively hot (28C/83F during the day, 25C/77F at night), so it was not so terrible not to have it, but i would have definitely turned it on if there had been one. The hotel has also a beautiful garden where the bungalows are located. The place is a very good option if you want to avoid other expensive hotels in Bora Bora.…

My husband and I stayed in the bungalow beach of the hotel for three nights. The location is amazing, just on the white sand public beach. Accommodation nice, quite clean with friendly staff. All what you need is less then 10 minutes walk: a small supermarket, several restaurants, bike rental. A good spot where relaxing on the beach

The hotel is very well presented and staff are friendly enough. The bungalow is not equipped with any conveniences very basic. The views are fantastic and the overall impression was somewhat positive.

Couldn't find a more beautiful place. To be on Natural Beach, these bungalows were perfect. No TV, radios or phones. Enjoyed swimming, snorkeling and relaxing. Miranda and crew were extremely helpful. Continental breakfast served on individual bungalows was treat.

To stay here was amazing, not only because of the kindness of Miranda and the staff, mostly because of the concept of the Hotel. We stayed 6 nights. It is located in an amazing beach (Matira) that is the only public one so this permits a contact with the locals. Because you stay on the main island you can mantain contact with people and rent a scooter, for example, to explore the island. The rooms are amazing, huge size and finished with good materials. As it doesnt have any common area it permits you to feel by your own and in perfect contact with the island, avoiding that "resort flavour" that at least our kind of travelers like to avoid. The breakfast is amazing presented every morning, served in the room. Also an amazing value for the money, the best we found in the island by far. I will recomend it to all my friends.…

All though this is not an "overwater" experience. these bungalows are located directly on Matira Beach where the waters are warm and calm. The bungalows are a bit rustic but clean and a great place to enjoy beautiful quiet walks in the AM. Check out Lucky House pizzeria out front,

Ended our Tahiti vacation in Bora Bora and found the best location, Matira Beach, and the best place to stay, Hotel Matira. From the moment we arrived, Miranda made us feel welcome and at home. Her sunny smile and wonderful service started our trip here on a very pleasant note! And it was lovely having her deliver a fresh breakfast tray each morning at the appointed time to us. We had a gorgeous bungalow on the beach with large sliding doors that opened out to a wrap-around lanai. The bungalow was quite large and very comfortable. Restaurants and markets were all within walking distance, and the town not too far away. We LOVED being here and look forward to a return visit soon!
