We stayed 2 nights in the Sunshine Room which has it's own ensuite facilities. Room was clean and tidy and well presented. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast each day was delicious. Location is great and an easy walk from the ferry. Becky was a perfect host and dropped us back to the ferry after our stay. For those interested in... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night. The owner was pleasant and friendly and the home is nicely appointed. The bed in our room was incredibly high which we found really unusual and although comfortable it couldn’t be considered user friendly or convenient. Some older people or someone with a disability would be likely to have difficulty getting... More

What a lovely B and B, just a 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The house is very quaint and cosy. We had the "Sunshine" room, decorated in blues and yellows, very homely and comfortable. The other rooms, had a peek through the door, all looked really nice as well, all upstairs. Beautiful furnishings throughout the house. Becky, our... More

We spent just one night in Wrangell at Rooney's Roost. The place is very attractive, both outside and inside. Our room was very attractive, with lots of pillows on the bed, and low ceilings in the corners (gabled roof?). BUT - there wasn't much space in our room for OUR stuff. The bathroom was very small, including a small shower.... More

This B&B was comfortable and friendly, and scrupulously clean. I find it hard to describe the furnishings, perhaps a sort of very fresh "Cape Cod Victorian." I was taken aback at first that my private bathroom was across the hall, but it was indeed mine alone, and very attractive. I think most of the rooms have bathrooms attached. The rooms... More

I've debated over this review for over a month and finally decided that it was important to post it. Our experience with Rooney's Roost was far less positive than the other reviews here. Picture this. Wrangell, Alaska, sometime in August, a dark and rainy night... Three 40-something women backpacking Alaska for two weeks during the coldest and wettest summer Alaska... More

We had a very pleasant stay at Rooney's Roost. We had planned on staying only one night, but the cancellation of our ferry provided the opportunity for two. Becky was exceedingly accommodating, relaying the ferry cancellation message to us (she ran into the ferry lady at the grocery store - gotta love a small town!) and adding an extra night... More

My wife and I spent four nights here on a visit to Wrangell this month (August 2006). Our experience matched that of other reviewers here. Becky and Gordon, the owners, were great hosts, making us feel comfortable and welcome, and sharing their experiences with Wrangell in a helpful way. Becky’s an aide to the local state representative, so she knows... More

The owners of Rooney's Roost are great hosts. The breakfasts are incredible, including the coffee! There are always fresh baked cookies when you come back in the afternoon. You could not stay at a better place. More

I would go to Wrangell just to stay here with the Rooney family! The owner must have been a designer in some past life because it is homey and elegant at the same time! The common area has highly polished wood floors with decorations of ceramic roosters all about. The color of the walls is a warm gold and the... More
