We arrived in Berg-en-Dal at night and the first thing to know is : DO NOT arrive at night, there are no lights to indicates the path to your house. A short trip from East Rand (Approximately 4 hours). Close proximity to the Malelane Gate. What a peaceful atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed at Berg-en-dal, on our first stay in the park with our small children. (We were regular bush babies before we had kids.) Stayed in Bungalow (BA3U) even though only 2 of us. No a/c but so much better than Satara. Staff more pleasant too. The kitchen is inside which is also better than Satara. Restaurant (lovely place to sit) ok for breakfast after early morning self-drive safari.Not sure about early trip out - no better than other times really. More
