We stayed for 6 nights in Cape Town and in the Amber Tree Lodge. It is one a really good hostel all around. They offer good priced nice, clean rooms. The location is fantastic: drink your morning coffee on a balcony with unobstructed outlook to the Tabletop Mountain and still be in one of the busier nightlife zones of Cape... More

The lodge was one of the best places where I have stayed in South Africa. The lodge is in the middle of Cape Town. The supermarket, restaurants, bars and laundry facilities are nearby. The staff is nice and always willing to help out. The rooms, kitchen and the bathroom were all spotless clean. One of the most amazing experiences was... More

We were very well received by a smiley helpful staff that showed us around this amazing house. The room was clean, and modern. The toilet new, the showers amazing! Spotless clean, smelling fresh. Its located close enough to long street, but away enough so not to hear the chaos at night. Amazing balcony with view of the table mountain. Basic... More

We stayed in the dorms for 6 nights, and it was one of the best dorm beds we had slept in. The atmosphere in Amber tree is like in a home. Stephen, Wayne and Hank were really helpful in every question we asked them. We urge any one wanting a quite back backpackers, in a central location to come here... More

I stayed here for four nights with my two children (12 & 15) in March. Steve and Wayne were great hosts providing plenty of advice on things to do and places to eat. We had our own room private room along with all the benefits of a full kitchen and a very comfortable living room to relax and talk to... More

We just stayed the weekend at The Amber Tree Lodge and loved it. The two people there who run it are extremely nice and willing to help out with whatever you may need. My boyfriend and I stayed in a private room with a en-suite bath, which was lovely. It has EVERYTHING we needed for a really great price. The... More

We stayed in the Amber Tree Lodge for five nights in February 2013. What a gem in the middle of Cape Town! We would definitely stay there again, no doubt whatsoever. The people who run the lodge (Steven and Wayne) went out of their ways to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. The Lodge itself has a very cozy... More

I booked the Amber Tree Lodge for my stay in Cape Town due to the great reviews on Trip Advisor and I wasn't disappointed...it more than lived up to the hype. Everything about it is top notch...clean, comfy beds, great kitchen and common areas, free wifi, good simple breakfast, excellent location and helpful owner/manager. The owner helped me to rent... I stayed last week with a group of friends and had a fantastic time. The Hostel is everything you would expect, but with plenty of extra touches. Facilities are excellent for a hostel and the managers Stephen and Wayne were always willing and available to help. Excellent Bathrooms, Kitchen (with free breakfast) and a balcony with fantastic views of table... More
