Pleasantly surprised with the comfort and decor of the room. Very modern, spacious and bathroom had shower and separate bath. As our room faced east, over the courtyard, we had the morning sun streaming in which was an added plus. Only negatives, we were given the incorrect room as it was already occupied, safe had to be unlocked by a... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night to avoid the late night drive home and the traffic after the Bon Jovi concert at the Cape Town Stadium. Excellent location, a 10-minute walk from the Stadium and overlooking the Two Oceans Aquarium and Waterfront if they are on your agenda. Staff are friendly and helpful, one of the porters... More

This hotel is actually part of Cape Town Business School, but is actually perfectly fine for a few days stay in Cape Town. My room was modern and clean, and the price included a great breakfast spread, including chef cooked eggs anyway you like them. I did have a problem with the (so-called) inclusive wifi access, which was cut off... More

Stayed here for a week with work. there was a few issue when checking in, as they tried to put me and a colleague into 1 double suite, once rectified they tried to add on 'specail' charges that funny had to be paid in cash there and then, but soon disappeared as a good will gesture when I asked to... The beds are not comfortable and the pillows are too thick. None of us slept well, The latches on the windows were broken. There was a shower curtain in lieu of a shower door to the shower. This is terrible and a detail that went out with Noah's Ark. It would be an inexpensive but dramatic improvement to fit proper... More

Convenience to the waterfront, cleanliness of the rooms, and helpfulness of the staff made our stay terrific. Great view of Table Mountain from my room. The dinners at the Time-Out Cafe were delicious and the plating was so attractive that I took pictures of them. We would definitely stay here on a return visit.

This hotel is situated in the grounds of the old prison and has a great feel. We stayed in the family room. It has one entry door and two bedrooms- similar to ships cabin. Rooms very neat and well stocked. Beds comfy and linen crisp. The door of the shower is situated in such a way that if you are... More

In my recent visit to Capetown, South Africa, I had the pleasure of staying at the Protea Hotel Breakwater Lodge. It stunk that I had to leave my group of 14 to stay alone at a hotel that was formally a prison. But once I got over myself, the stay turned out to be one of the best experiences that... More

This hotel is set in a great area of Cape Town, close to the marina and harbour. The rooms are delightful and the staff are superb. The V&A waterfront was beautiful with a wide range of restaurants and cafes all at reasonable prices. The views of Table Mountain are fantastic. The trip to Robben Island is an absolute must. We... Really nice hotel, good value, central location. Great service. Whilel my first room was nice, it was a little too close to the aircon vents. I was moved to a suite. Really delighted with the room and service. The location. Is right where you want to be in central Cape Town for going out and meals. The breakfast patio has... More
