A clean and safe option for women travellers traveling alone, with the added luxury of good cotton sheets and occasionally decadent bathrooms. Beautifully appointed rooms and apartments with good reliable Internet access, exceptional laundry services , lovely views and located in a stunning part of cape town.near to beautiful breakfast lunch and dinner places, lovey yoga studios .... Little reason... More

Best Cape Town location, good housekeeping, beautiful character cottages with tasteful decor. Stayed in 25Jarvis. Spacious, bright and close to everything. Only downfall- across from gay sauna so it's noisy at night. Also, there's no furniture on the roof deck. Great kitchen and modern bathrooms, good linen and comfy beds. This was our 5stay with Village and Life. Best value. More

As always a very friendly and helpful welcome to the De Waterkant House, small but extremely pleasant, very clean, very comfortable and with a lot of charm. Nothing like the Formula One mentioned by Caroline C in 'recent reviews' [I have unfortunately used F1 only once and would not consider using the De Waterkant if there were any comparison] but... This property is advertised as "superior". I would describe it as basic, sterile and charmless. Something along the lines of the Formula one hotel chain, basic, functional, no character and certainly no luxury. The furniture is cheap and tired. Curtains were not running on the rails correctly, the security gates were broken. There was not patio furniture, so we could... More

Dear Guest As per our email it is very unfortunate that you did not enjoy your stay, however this property was graded 4 star by the South African Tourism Grading Association and is also advertised on the De Waterkant Village website to see. We do understand that we do need to take ownership but as the properties are privately owned... More

I have stayed at the Village and Life at least 10 times and it is the best deal going in Cape Town. I usually get a travellers room which often turns out to be a 2 bedroom condo and is always more than I need. The location is beyond good with a wonderful scenic neighborhood, shops and proximity to the... More

De WaterKant village is an interesting andcsafevareaof Cape Town. There is a range of accommodation and we enjoyed two of the cottages. Very well furnished, spacious, much better than a hotel room. More

If you are looking for somewhere to rest your head, in an safe area of the Cape with countless gorgeous shops and restaurants within walking distance, this is the place for you. De Waterkant area as a whole has a beautiful Mediterranean feel, securely patrolled day and night. The Guest House itself has a small but adequate pool to cool... More

We spent three weeks in this 3 bedroom town house located in the beautiful De Waterkant neighbourhood in Cape Town. It was the best, most cost effective holiday accommodation we have had the pleasure to find in the city! I recommend it to one and all :-) More

The area of the hotel is great. The Cape Quarter has lots of lovely restaurants that you can walk to. If you can choose which accommodation type you stay in the De Waterkant Village then go for the Charles as its modern, spacious and if you get a room high up the views are stunning. More
