We arrived in Cape Town by plane and we picked up for free by this hostel. We had a double and stayed for 4 nights. The staff was very helpful and gave us good tips on what to do and where to stay. The communal area was relaxed and had a nice atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this hostel.

Great people, love the vibe and atmosphere. It is in the best location, in the centre of everything. One of the best backpackers I have been to. I made lots of friends while staying here and had an amazing time.

a good place to stay, friendly staff and just 10 minutes walking to sea point, 15 to waterfront. Free internet, you will miss it in others hostels in Cape Town, a bar open until 11 pm tv and dvd in the common area.

Relaxed place, staff is really helpful and the food was good. It's walking distance from a lot of places and hikes in Capetown. Keep in mind, it's a hostel so it's not super fancy but good value for this. Enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

we stayed 3 nights in a double room en suite, which was clean , nicely decorated, quiet. The only problem was the cold but they lent us an electric heater! the R20 breakfast was fine muesli, yogurt, cheese , toast and jam.Everyone was friendly.

This hostel is more like a hotel in many ways. It’s a gorgeous Victorian mansion modernized into a beautiful but affordable place to stay. I found it spotlessly clean, with lots of nice touches like fluffy blankets and nice clean quality towels. The location was great - walking distance to the Waterfront, stadium, etc. Oh and they had FREE Internet... More

We stayed in Big Blue Hostel at the very end of our trip travelling from Malawi to Cape Town and decided to treat ourselves to a private room. (Judging from other reviews, maybe that's the secret!) Crisp white bed sheets, big fluffy white towels and high ceilings; it was more like staying in a hotel, but with hostel prices! Admittedly,... More
