“Gem of a hotel”

This hotel is a gem. The town is very nice a has a lot to offer. We found the staff at Casa Amarela to be fantastic. They go above and beyond in making us feel at home for the 5 days we were there. I highly recommend it and would go back eagerly. More

Castelo de Vide probably doesn't get a lot of tourist's but it's a wonderful place to stop over for a day/evening. In this sleepy castel village with it's proud locals, Casa Amarela got it all down to a 5 Star B & B in. The rooms are splendid and the bathrooms are the size of most hotel rooms. Every detail... Having read positive reviews, I reserved by email (100 € for one night, quite high for Portugal). This reservation was confirmed by the hotel. When we arrived, at 5:30, we found the address without difficulty, right in the town centre. But the door was closed! No sign of life, not even a message displayed. Half an hour later we rang... We stay at casa amarela in December and it was a wonderful experience, Casa Amarela it´s a charming 17th century townhouse, now a beautifully restored small hotel. With just 8 double rooms and 2 suites, all differently decorated, it is a perfect place from which to explore the fascinating town and surrounding areas. More
