it belongs to a famous local family as an old soap factory. Good breakfast, service, clean rooms. Staff is friendly. Location is near the market and museum. The rest needs a vehicle. There is SVEYKA rest. near by which is also very good and walkable. It is a silent, safe neighbourhood . I highly reccomand it. More

A former soap factory, the Savon Hotel has been converted into a comfortable hotel located just off of the local produce market in Antakya. The rooms are large, air-conditioned and with a modern bathroom. Free wi-fi is available in your room. Our room overlooked the large courtyard which also included an outdoor restaurant. As we were here during Ramadan, all... More

Maybe it's a normal thing for the Turks, but the middle of the night disco music was insane and we were there for a wedding. We had to wake up early the next morning for a flight so were hoping for a few hours of sleep that was just impossible. Also, the first room we were in had a shower... More

My wife and I stayed in this hotel a couple of years back. Our friends got married there and held their reception at the hotel. The staff and facilities were fine, as was the room. A swimming pool would have been nice but there just isn't the area in which to locate a pool - not the hotel's fault. Meals... More

The Savon hotel was an old soap factory that had been carefully renovated about 10 years ago. The ground floor had lovely large warehouse style windows and wide marble corridors. The bedrooms were a good size and nicely decorated with big windows overlooking the main road (be careful as some only have skylights). The bathroom only had a shower and... More

Warning! Nowhere on this hotel's website (though I use the term 'hotel' loosely) do they warn you that every Saturday night the main courtyard becomes a nightclub. We awoke, disorientated, at midnight to a thumping drum-and-bass beat. When we called reception to find out what was going on, the reception clerk was thoroughly unhelpful. Thankfully we spoke Turkish (none of... More

We stayed for one night as a stopover on the way to Aleppo. The building is situated on the edge of the Jewish Quarter, just near the top end of the Antakya Souk. As mentioned by others, this means that it is a few minutes away from the centre of town but, as almost all excursions involve a taxi or... More

This is a pretty good hotel, reflecting the area's cultural history. It is an old soap factory, renovated into a hotel. Although it looks historic from the outside, rooms are of a typical 4 star hotel without anything special. Ammenities are of average quality. Although the bed was comfortable, they did not have goose feather pillows. Not even on request.... More

I'm not sure if I agree with the previous reviewer that it's a renovated caravansaray, since the brochure states it was formerly a oil and soap factory. Nevertheless, it was a place with nice, new furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. There was cake and cookies near the reception and a grand piano with many plushy chairs. The bathroom was one... The sophisticated Savon is a suprise. Created by renovating an ancient caravansaray, the hotel entrance is directly off the street thru an old gate. Once you are standing in the courtyard, all street sounds are gone and you are surrounded by light, cool air and beautiful flowers. The reception area is amazing considering one is in remote southeastern Turkey. Here... More
