We arrived in the afternoon without a booking to have a look. The two staff who were in the (very nice) reception area didnt seem very interested in assiting us or showing us a room. The young man they eventually called to show us a room was very helpful, but initially we only stayed because we were hot & tired.... More

This was my first time in Samoa and was recommended the Moanalisa by a work mate. Great place. Air conditioning in all rooms Great pool Great bar 20 mins by bus to Apia Service is relaxed, if you need anything you just ask. Easier to go next door to the dairy to get small amounts of tea, coffee etc than... More

Sadly this was our worst experience of the three hotels we stayed at. We spent three nights. While the room and view was lovely, the service left little to be desired. There was only one cup no milk provided, and the coffee and whitener sachets were all dried out. The room was never serviced during our stay. The staff came... More

My wife and I chanced upon the Moanalisa Hotel (it's in the completely wrong category as a Bed & Breakfast or Inn) having driven in and straight out of the dreary Airport Lodge. The Moanalisa is clean, modern, bright and with a proper hotel foyer and reception. The one thing is doesn't really have, although it tries, is street appeal.... More

The hotel lies in a town called vaitele which is located next to apia. It is a nice small little hotel with all the necessary things you need for your stay at samoa. We were a group of 6 people and stayed there for one week. The rooms were clean and well equipped (TV, fridge, wardrobe, balcony, power plugs etc.).... More

spent one night here- we thought fairly average and poor value. Continental breakfast was a very mean affair, no hot water in shower, only one cup for tea making, balcony never been dusted. Major renovations were taking place out by the pool-luckily the digger stopped working soon after we arrived 4.30pm.

great location between airport and the city. the only nuisance was the sound of the machinery next door at the concrete making factory. It would wake you up in the morning and then sometimes be noisy all day, which made swimming in the pool and relaxing in the rooms uncomfortable. But as long as you know this, you can work... More

My wife and I have stayed here twice; once the week they opened and again in Aug. It's location really suits us well as we have relations nearby and it's in a neat shopping hub. It's central location makes other places easy to get to with a marketplace right across the road, regular bus services to and from Apia or... More

Talofa, we Sandra and Shirley(sisters) were in Apia(5/9-14/2011) for personal matters and we were very happy and over satisfy with our 1 week stay at Moanalisa. The staff and management are the most helpful and friendliest people we came to meet and we will always be grateful for the splendid hospitality shown towards our stay and meeting all our needs.... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Moanalisa Hotel is named after daughters of the owners Liz and John Hunt who first built the hotel in 2010. The hotel is located in Vaitele on the main road between Apia and the airport only a few minutes from Apia city. Liz and John manage the hotel along with their children - which makes it very much a family affair. They are ably supported by their other friendly and helpful staff members and boast having one of the best restaurants in town. Their goal is to make every guest feel like a member of the family. Guest rooms are tastefully decorated, extremely clean and well appointed with new LCD TV, bar fridge, telephone, and coffee/tea making facilities in room. There are many local amenities close by including transport to/from the city or airport, car rental, bank and a medical center right outside the front door. The newly built Vaitele Markets are also located right across the road from the hotel. All this combines to truly make Moanalisa Hotel your family and home in the heart of Polynesia. ... more   less
