Located on Historic Route 66 just south of the Grand Canyon, the Red Garter offers lodging in a beautifully restored 1897 saloon and bordello. The antique furnishings capture the 1890's atmosphere without giving up the comfort and security expected by today's traveler. Within an hour's drive see Sedona, the ghost town Jerome, Indian ruins at Walnut Canyon and Wupatki National Monuments and the Grand Canyon.
It was just ok, nothing special. I think I was the only one staying there (I didn't see another human the entire time). My room didn't have windows, the sheets were really scratchy, and the shower was not cleaned well. The instructions say there is coffee in the common area but I only saw tea when I was there. Overall, not worth paying the $200 to stay here despite the history. I should have just stayed at the Holiday Inn.

Loved this place! Excellent price, excellent host, excellent amenities, and the building! Oo La La! This restoration was jaw dropping to me. The attention to detail impressed me to no end.... the curtains, the wainscot, the door frames, the furnishings, no detail too small. I love history and sleeping in a real old west bordello was awesome! The restaurant on the ground floor was excellent. I was concerned when booking that it would be a bar and keep us up late, but it really is just a restaurant and we slept very peacefully. Location is perfect for walking the town. Parking, no problem. We stayed in "the best girls room" (#1) and viewed 2 others from the doorway. Pictures do not do justice. They are WAY more fun in person. Will definitely be back!

Loved the Red Garter Inn! Stayed in the "Best Gal's" room. The decor was exceptional and enjoyed the street view of downtown Williams. Conveniently located in downtown across from the Railroad hotel and within walking distance of restaurants, gift shops, grocery store, zipline, etc. The floors are made of cork soundproofing and are very quiet for a sound nights sleep. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Anna's café located downstairs. The cafe's décor matches the hotel. Check-in and check-out was super easy. Atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. Enjoyed use of the community fridge, microwave, and coffee prepared at 6:00 a.m. Super interesting, fun place. Highly recommend!

We wouldn't normally book a place like this, my wife is very fussy, but after we read about this ex-brothel we thought we had to give it a go and what a good idea. Great location in Williams made it perfect, we had been warned by the owner of the steep stairs so we just put a few essentials in a small bag for our one night. Our room didn't really have a good view but we weren't in our room long enough anyway, but it was very comfortable and clean and almost perfect. I say almost because of the trains. Why do they have to blast their horns at stupid o'clock, think they do it on purpose to waken everyone within a twenty mile radius of the train line. Don't let it put you off this place though because if you are staying in Williams you WILL be woken by the trains so you might has well have a bit of fun and comfort in doing so.…

When traveling we like to stay in local hotels, The red Garter is authentic 1800's. A former bordello, it offers spacious rooms, private baths and the atmosphere of its intended use. Not inexpensive but worth a one time experience.

In early April 2022 we stayed for one night in the former brothel which has been a hotel with four rooms for over 20 years. Each room is quaint and you get the feeling that time has turned back 100 years. The furnishings are lovely and you can feel the flair of the old times. The only criticism are the nearby railroad tracks. When the train passes through Williams, it honks every time. The night is best spent with hearing protection, especially since the hotel is very bright.

My wife and I booked a night at the Red Garter for October 19, 2021. We used the code to get into the building mid afternoon and we were the only ones in the building. We went out for a few hours and came back to relax before we went out for the evening. When we arrived back at the room at about 4;30 PM there was a worker painting some kind of a solution on the sidewalk across the front of the building, and he told us it was lacquer. After about an hour and a half in the room the fumes became very strong and we were experiencing headaches and we were becoming disoriented. I called the woman who sent us the code to check in and told her we didn't feel safe and we were leaving the building. She said she understood and said she would send me an email acknowledgement in the morning when she gets to the office. I never received that email and sent her a message a few days later to remind her to email me something to say we would be getting a credit from the Inn. She then said the owners would be in the following Monday and they will take care of it. I didn't hear from the owners and waited about a week then contacted the woman and she gave me no satisfaction. She started off by saying she looked up the stuff they were using to paint the sidewalk and it wasn't lacquer. I didn't care what it was...all we knew is we had headaches and we were disoriented. She then said we are going to have to be patient and became very condescending. Never once, no matter how hard I tried, did the woman or the owners get back to me. They didn't give a dam. After about a month I filed a dispute with my credit card company and after about two more months they finally settled it with the Red Garter Inn. I hated to have to go through the credit card company but since the Red Garter Inn couldn't care less about us, I'm glad that we did. The right thing to do would have been to apologize to us and immediately credit our credit card. Instead we had to go pay for a different hotel and never received a courtesy communication from them. We were on a 9 day road trip and the other hotels and airbnb's were terrific. We are in our 70's and have never complained about our hotel rooms or airbnb's. Ed Pennsylvania…

The Inn and staff were exceptional. This was our first time at the Inn, but we've stayed in Williams over 20 times. Compared to the other hotel options, this has been my favorite place to stay. We stayed in the Best Gals Room, which overlooks the railway. You are able to walk easily to all of the hot spots in Williams - shops, food, wine, beer, and railway. The rooms were comfy and clean and a great experience. Only negative is the train whistle. The rooms at the back of the Inn likely would be less disturbed by the whistle.

My wife and I were roadtripping through Arizona, and we looked for unique places to stay on our trip. This place fit the bill. It was a perfect place to stay after our visit to the Grand Canyon. We stayed in room 4. This room was the perfect size for two travelers. It was comfortable, clean, and full of character. There was a brewery right next door, and it was an easy walk to all of the downtown shops and other restaurants. We enjoyed breakfast in the café downstairs the following morning.

We stayed there two nights, for my birthday in August. We stayed in Room #1, which we are told was "The Best Gals" room, reserved for the top Soiled Dove of the period. I liked the decor of vintage antique furniture and pictures on the wall. It was comfortable and quiet, even though it faced the street. We did not see or hear any spooky events, ghosts or other apparitions. Conveniently close to town and shops and restaurants. The stairs are STEEP, all 21 of them, as there is no elevator
