We spent two nights here with our dog and were delighted with it. The staff were friendly, there was no extra charge for the dog (once we were charged €12 A NIGHT extra in another hotel), the room was generous, clean, had a little fridge and the shower was powerful. The internet was free but a bit variable in reliability and not password protected. We didn’t have breakfast, preferring a croissant from the local boulangerie but we did have dinner on night. We had the cheapest set menu at €18 each and the cheapest wine at €14 and both were absolutely delicious. It’s a family run place in one of the prettiest villages in France...what’s not to love? We will be back!

You get what you paid for. The room was clean but very small. The shower room no bigger than a corridor. The restaurant was closed and the breakfast was not great. There were no private parking and we had to leave the car in a road.

We stayed in the first floor Family room in October 2015 originally for 2 nights but we enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night. The room was spacious with new en suite bathroom (with bath) and separate wc. Most adequately furnished with very comfortable mattress and telephone in room (most useful for room service). First night we had a most pleasant diner (table d'hote) in the very provincial dining room, good home cooked food and pleasant wines. On request all our delicious breakfasts were served in the room and diners on the other 2 nights. I asked for room service, it was not an issue and it was given most naturally with a smile. The room service was the quickest and most efficient we have had for a long time bearing in mind it is only a 2 stars rated establishment. All the staff and owners were very professional and welcoming, Parking outside was easy. Covered terrace on the square was perfect for the "Aperos" even when raining. A Town centre pedestrianized location in a delightful town with beautiful river views. Of course "Hotel Feuillade" is not perfect but it was great. We will certainly be back!

Seems a bit variable food wise although usually very good. Used quite a lot in 2010 when we were moving near here and recently for lunch & dinner. Food good but maybe a trifle expensive at times although we have never had to complain.

We stayed in the hotel Fouillade for two nights from the 31st July. The hotel is located on a nice square in Argentat, with some parking at the front and a large free public car park nearby. The rooms were fairly modern, clean and well maintained. The rooms were a little warm without any air con facilities, but if you left the window open overnight and just slept with one of the covers it was fine. There was a language barrier with the staff but that's to be expected from a remote area of France. Both parties tried hard with other and we ended up being understood in most cases. We paid for the breakfast at €7.50 but we've had better for the same price. The setup was part buffet and part waiter service. Your hot drinks were ordered from the waiter, so I suspect they were limited to one each. In addition, your croissant was already served on the table opposed to being allowed as many croissants and bread rolls as you want. The orange juice was self serve, along with more bread, jams and spreads and cracker/cold toast things they have in Europe. We also got a funny look when we asked for cold milk for our Cereal. For the price it was a bit limiting and it could be improved. Another plus for the hotel was the free ironing. We were going to a wedding the next day and asked about an iron. To our surprise our shirts were taken, ironed and dropped back to our room without any additional charge. It was a nice bonus.

We dined at this restaurant 30 years ago on a camping holiday and decided to revisit the restaurant while staying in the area. The food was excellent, as we had remembered it, but the waitress who served us was rude and arrogant, especially when we paid and did not bid us a good night. They will have to do better than this if they want to survive for another 120 years - but maybe French customers accept this sort of behavior

First impression was terrible. Firstly there was rubbish everywhere outside the hotel as if a bin had been emptied. 2 hours later it was still all there. Probably nothing to do with the hotel but it sure had an impact on how we viewed the place. The entrance is dark and dingy and not at all welcoming. However the woman at the desk helped us with our luggage and showed us the room. The room is good for a 2 star rating. Obviously some cosmetic work in the last few years which helps as the paint is fresh and the bathroom is very clean. Also nice to have a separate toilet. The shower is above the bath which is Ok but with no screen so a bit hard to have a shower without getting the whole room wet. Excellent free wifi which many higher rated hotels seem to find all to hard to provide (unless you are pay) so that is a real plus. There is a self serve laundry across the road and free parking either right in front or about 100 metres away. It seems there is not a lot of choice in Argentat and we were surprised by how little the town had to offer travellers. The whole town is pretty tired and I would not return as thee are so many other options in this part of the country. The old quay area is small and also a bit dreary. Thankfully many of the homes and shops have created lovely flower gardens.

I have eaten at the hotel Fouillade many times in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately I made the mistake of booking into a room in the hotel at the beginning of November. I did this by email & requested a meal. On arrival we had to pay up front. We were told the kitchen was out of use & couldn't have a meal. We went out for a meal & when we returned they had about 14 artisans (all staying at the hotel) eating a meal. The room was grubby & we couldn't find a floorboard that didn't creak. The breakfast was a joke. 2 options of children cereal, 1 croissant & a 5 inch length of french stick with strawberry jam or honey as an option. 1 small glass of orange juice. The waitress expected us to drink the coffee we ordered out of the cereal bowls we didn't bother to use. In fact I had to hunt for some cups myself out of a different room. Argentat has very little open out of season, especially restaurants. If you are ever thinking of staying in the town out of season I would suggest the hotel Sablier du temps. That is the only place we could find to eat.

We ate at the restaurant having seen and heard various glowing reports. We came away feeling slightly let down. We expected fresh bread but our basket was slightly stale and dry (I guess it had been cut some hours before) I asked for a rare (blue steak) but what I got was medium at best and well done at worst. The rest of the meal was fine but the service left a bit to be desired and I agree that the owner's wife maitre d was not a happy soul. I think we would go back but only for the menu du jour.
